Week 1: Montana vs Valpo Game Thread

Let's see we have more points, more yards, our qb is looking great, we converted 6-8 on 3rd conversions. We are losing on TP....wow, we suck.

IT would be nice if there was a little positive energy on this board, and not a bunch of "sky is falling" types. Valpo played a very good half. Do they have the depth on their roster to continue that in the 2nd half?

Middling? You do understand that just because they dont have scholarships that they suck. USD beat CalPoly last year in the playoffs. Many Pioneer "insiders" believe that Valpo is going to surprise in their league this year - I would bet that that is obvious the case.

You do realize that Valpo was picked to finish 10th in the Pioneer.

I know what exactly what Valpo was picked. I also know they were vastly underrated...and are much better than what they were picked. Looks like I'm right. eGrizzers are whining because someone actually is playing a very good game. Now IF, someone was being objective as someone so recently throughout there - one realize they are playing a very good game.

For a first game, I am very happy so far - and we will go at least 8-3 this year.

Now Valpo is a good team? Go look at the score predictions. Valpo sucks and the Griz should beat them by 40.

And if you had done your research you would see that many picked them much higher. Hell, even the announcers can recognize that they are playing a good game.

I find it laughable that 90% of the posters on this board have already tanked the season, 2 quarters into the game. Pathetic.

If you can't see big glaring problems right now, I still want what you are drinking. The secondary consistently gives up the big play. The offense is executing sporadically. Given the stature of Valparaiso and the stature of the team's the Griz will face this season, that's a big issue. Grady Bennet just said "evenly matched." That's bad. Really bad. Valparaiso is out fighting Montana in Wa Griz. Still want what you are drinking...

I don't drink, but I do understand that is probably part of the problem for many posting here today. Valpo will not be even one of the 3 worse teams we face this year.

I just read a little, and watched interviews. I actually picked Valpo to get beat badly, but still score in the 20s

no way to listen or watch where I am, but I have tuned into Valpo radio and the announcers are pretty good. They said the Montana coach seems to "overzealous" as they describe a play by UM on their own 18. They really think they are going to win this one.

I've never had luck with that. But, the Valpo announcers are describing the "odd" behavior of the UM crowd that leaves at the half...

Stevie Wonder can see the problems here, the biggest concern coming in was coverage and pass rush and this nobody team is exploiting that. This is a big concern for anybody objective.

Objective is lost on eGriz. And you've been negative Nancy for months. Suck it up - take pride in your team!

Engineers are smarter than liberals....lol But in response to your comment. I have lived in Missoula my entire life, and have been a Griz fan since the 60s. I always cheered for them when they sucked, and always believed they could win.

Why is it that every time a person is critical of the Griz, someone has to pull out the "you are a bad fan and should cheer for your team, good or bad" mantra? I have never seen Jodcon root against the Griz.
