You are absolutely right. I did forget that he, too, was out. That year was such a kick in the teeth. I've never met Humphrey, and I always forget to ask Sammy when I run into him, but I am curious about their thoughts on that game. It was winnable.

How those seasons could have gone without QB injuries and a backup that just couldn't put it together... I will always wonder. Those defenses were special, and the offenses were good before the injuries. Will never forget the image of Cam and Akem standing together on the sidelines, hurt and unable to finish out their careers like they wanted. Hearts breaking.

Just think we would still have Junior if we didn’t have to use him out of position at RB his true freshman year.

I would have taken any QB over Kris Brown. He was a good teammate but lacked the skill needed to compete against the best competition. Hicks Onu was insanely good, not having him was detrimental to our secondary.
