Weber State vs. Cal

My bad! Weber sounds like they may be the team to make a good run at conference title.

I think the truth is the gap between the FCS and FBS is not nearly as wide as some would like to believe except for the elite of FBS. Those elite FBS teams also embarass alot of the teams in the FBS as well as FCS.
Looks pretty wide from where I'm sitting in Husky Stadium.

Besides the result Weber is for real. Them and PSU are going to be tougher games for us less worried about EWU than Weber from what I've seen so far

Wildcats, Vikes, and Nodaks appear to be the class of conf. Tough to beat all of em.

NAU explosive on offense too. From what I have seen not sure MT can beat any of them.

We can quit complaining about the unbalanced conf. schedule; we don't have to play Weber.

Yes we do. We play them at the end of October in Ogden so we should take notice of them...

I should have displayed "tongue in cheek' more visibly.

What, exactly, are you basing that on? PSU has lost to two mediocre FBS teams, UND has lost to one and beaten a horrible FCS team and Weber blew out an NAIA team and lost to an FBS team...not ONE of those FBS teams is anywhere NEAR the caliber of the Huskies....so, what exactly are you basing your "class of the conference" analysis on?

Cal was actually impressive on offense the week before, but Weber was strong on defense this week. Makin some gutsy plays until BCS depth finally wore them down. PSU losses were not top tier FBS but I don't think MT would have done any better. PSU defensive line was aggressive and able to get pressure with just the front 4 something MT has not been able to do even against Valpo. The secondary play was deep and solid. Their offense is not stellar but has that big play capability.
NAU has a lack of defense but a dynamic offense. Butler is as good as a receiver as the Griz will see all year, and that includes what the Griz faced against UW.
NoDak is tough. Solid on D and a great run game again. Eat up the clock and limit opponents time. I think they match up well against the Griz. They are the most physical team in the conference.

So not a lot to go off of yet, but at this point that is the impression. So from what I have seen, I do not see MT being able to dominate any one of the four teams mentioned. Can they win? Yes. Are any of those games a lock? Not even close.

Iw as actually impressed with the Griz play for about a quarter against UW. The secondary was much improved. It all fell apart after that though. And while I expected them to easily route the Griz there were a ton of fundamental errors that were made. Lot's of sloppy play that was just down right embarrassing.

While you will get no argument from me that Utah, California, Oregon State and BYU are nowhere near the team Washington is, they are still FBS. And I don't think it's hard to see that at this moment, North Dakota, Weber State and Portland State have put forth the best showings. So I don't think it is wrong to claim that AT THIS TIME... UND, WSU and PSU look to be the favorites. Heck even Montana State showed signs of life towards the end of their game against SDSU. There is still a lot of football to play, and now that games against higher division foes will be coming to an end and the teams play more to their level we should see just who begins to separate themselves.
