Happy game week everybody. We've made it. After 90 weeks of no football (not including the spring games), Griz football is officially back but before we get excited about that, we have one final Big Sky preview in Weber State. The four time defending Big Sky champions have a very difficult non-conference schedule and will be tested early. This is the season I think Weber's run comes to an end. Let's dive in!

September 2 @ Utah - L. Weber's pretty much annual pay game against Utah. Utah was a little shaky in the limited action they had last year, but they will still be a top tier PAC 12 team and I give Weber no chance in this one.

September 11 @ Dixie State - W. Should be fine in this one. The real challenge comes the week after.

September 18 vs. James Madison - L. Good for Weber getting to host JMU. I would love to get a home and home with them and get them into Wa-Griz. I voted JMU #1 in my preseason EGriz poll and I do think they're the best team in the country coming into the season (I would've said SDSU but QB questions loom). I expect JMU to win this game by 2+ touchdowns.

September 25 vs. UC Davis - W. Close game that could go either way but I'll give Weber the edge at home.

October 2 @ Cal Poly - W. They'll be fine in this one.

October 9 - BYE. Right in the middle of the schedule, that's nice.

October 15 vs. Montana State - L. Friday night lights on ESPNU. The cats can definitely win this game. I originally picked Weber in msu's season preview but I'm gonna flip and take the cats now.

October 23 @ Eastern Washington - L. I don't think Weber's offense will be able to keep up with Eastern and Barriere. Plus it's in Cheney so I favor the Eags in this one.

October 30 @ Idaho State - W. Tricky road game but I'll give them the win in this rivalry game.

November 6 vs. Portland State - W. In Ogden so they should be fine.

November 13 @ Southern Utah - W. The final Beehive Bowl game. Historically, Weber has struggled in Cedar City but I guess I would be kind of shocked to see that this year, Weber rolls.

November 20 vs. Northern Colorado - W. Good tune-up for the playoffs.

I got Weber going 7-4. The ceiling is 10-1 and the floor is 6-5. I think 7-4 is very reasonable and would constitute 2 conference losses and Weber is finally knocked off their pedestal Thoughts?

You had it right the first time; Weber beats MSU in Ogden.

I went to a few MSU games in Ogden. Ended up with a WSU cap, WSU hoodie...couldn't help myself.

Weber has struggled in Cedar City? Only 2 of SUU's 8 wins were in Cedar City. In fact Weber has won 6 of the last 7 matchups there. If anything Weber should be glad the game isnt in Ogden where SUU has won 4 of the last 6.

I have the cats losing 3. To Utah, JMU and Eastern. But still winning a share of the title again
