Defense is doing just enough ... offense has to find a way to move the ball. Yes, I know the JMU defense is super-tough, but the 'Cats need to find some answers.

Halftime stats

TOP- JMU 19 minutes to 11
Yardage- JMU 284-40
First Downs- JMU 13-2

But Weber has the only Turnover that set up a 3 yard TD run,
and the D has bowed up and stopped a fourth and 1 and blocked a FG

IF, Big IF, Weber can get the O moving they have a chance.
But right now Cantwell is throwing like a 7th grader. 3 for 14 for 14 yards.

And with all of that Weber is only down 10-7 and gets the second half Kickoff.

How can that be called holding when NO ONE had possession at the time of the supposed infraction???????

I am old enough to remember when UM went to JMU... A lot of mystery calls and flat out shit calls.

I'm rooting for Webs but they don't stand a chance. I have watched JMU a couple of times. This game will show how far the Griz need to go to get back to a national competitive level. It's a looooooooooong way.

Ok, I will admit I was wrong. Web is representing well.

So far it only looks as if the Griz need to get 15 points better.

As I mentioned in the upset post. If Cantwell can keep it together and make good decisions JMU is gonna have their hands full.

Just imagine he was having an awesome night tonight.

There's always the second half. C'mon BIG SKYYYYYYYYY!!!!!

Can you link a definition of holding that stipulates that possession is necessary?

No I cannot. Haven't read a rule book lately. I just assumed that with NO clear possession in that case, 94 for Weber wasn't sure who had the ball, and the guy he tackled might have had it and thus it would have not been holding. Will gladly admit if I am wrong, that is why I asked for a clarification.

Being down by "only" a FG at halftime is actually pretty good for a JMU opponent. They really are that good (we too have watched them several times this year). The Weebs are hanging in there, but I think they'll need to get/make a couple of breaks to pull off an upset. Either that, or Cantwell has to catch fire -- and I think he has that capability.
