Weber scores from 40 ft at the buzzer to beat NC

I'm always surprised at the great support Weber gets for basketball, and the borderline ridiculous support their football team gets, even when they have good teams.

I know it sucks crap, Im sure alot of it has to do with Weber's hoops history, our football team has had no where near the history of success our hoops team has, another thing i think that has alot to do with it is Utah is a basketball state, BYU, Utah, Utah State, Weber State, thats alot of history, and all within 75 miles of each other.

I have noticed a trend though, when our football games are played at night, our attendance is higher, our game vs UNC in football had over 8,000 and our game vs UC Davis had over 10,000, but then we turn around and get a whopping 5,462 against EWU ??? Not only was that game scheduled during the stupid mormon conference, it was also a 1pm game during early fall, Its still pretty hot at 1pm here in Utah in early October, that should have been a night game. I can understand the attendance vs PSU, it was like our UM game in 08 a friggin MONSOON, and then again it rains and is cold the second time in a row when we play Montana at home, at least we got 3,000 more to come to that game than the 2008 game

Also, Weber always schedules home games during stupid mormon conference and opening elk and deer hunt, I am also a hunter, and it pisses me off when like in 08 Opening Elk hunt starts the same day Weber hosts Montana, so its go elk hunting? or go to the game? Im glad I went to the game :D .

Maybe in a few years if Weber can continue to be competitive, our fanbase can start growing, its hard though when your a fan of an FCS team in the middle of 3 FBS teams who have been around far longer than you have.

Yeah I know its still better than a lot of BSC teams, but its pretty sad that an area as big as that around Missoula cant get more people to the men's bball games unless they are playing MSU.

Nobody gives a flying monkeys Ass about your stupid Ass Elk and Deer Hunt. Give it a rest, you've gotta be the only one I know who hunts. I bet our Attendance is affected less than 5 people who miss games because of HUNTIN.

Then you are even more moronic than you already let on. My senior year playing football in high school, our senior game was pushed a home game early because our "real" senior game fell on opening Deer hunt weekend. They used to let kids out of school to go hunting. You must not know a whole lot of people then, because whether or not you think so, Hunting is still very popular in Utah, something thats not likely to change, of course if you got out of your mom's basement once and a while you would know that.

Hunting in Utah does effect Weber's football attendance numbers.

Oh, You must live on the West side. I get it now.

HUNTIN does not affect attendance one ioda.

You said it best, they use to let kids out of school to go HUNTIN, like when I was in Junior High in '92

The Dee hasnt been that loud in a long time, what an ending.

Since last years BSC Championship game? I mean, the 1st half of the game? ;) 8-)

:lame: ;)

I meant at that point when he hit the shot, the place was LOUD, the last time it was "that loud" was when Weber beat Utah State 3 years ago in the Dee.

The fans at the game vs UNC provided a great atmosphere though, they were definetely in the game, our loudest game so far though was when we played BYU, we had a croud of 10,453. and it was loud when both teams scored a basket.
