I tried to ignore this nonsense post but I just can't let it go. I honestly don't know if you're actually this obtuse or you're just trying to bait us. I will apply Hanlon's razor in order to give you the benefit of the doubt, and answer you in good faith.
1. AhYat was a true freshman who needed to reserve his red shirt last year, which meant he could only play in four games as you well know. What games/snaps would you have played him instead of what the staff played him? How many other true freshman backup quarterbacks get what you would term "real" reps?
2. Any college coach with half a brain will have at least four quarterbacks on their roster. Bobby likes to have one from each class (so five). Two of the QBs on the roster transferred out, which left holes to fill. Without adding a transfer, the quarterback room this fall would have been one true freshman, two redshirt freshmen (one with a lot of potential but no real experience), and one redshirt sophomore who had never taken a snap in a college game. And you think that would have been a good idea? A football coach you are not.
3. Yes AhYat has tons of potential, which the coaching staff has obviously recognized and why they made him the backup QB last year over older players. (See point number two about why he didn't get more reps last year.) If you knew anything at all about Bobby Hauck, you would understand that AhYat being QB2 as a true freshman was an anomaly and a huge nod to his skills. But you would also understand that he still has a long way to go, needs time in the system, and needs more practice and live reps. Therefore you bring in an older more experienced QB to take the pressure off. It's just not that complicated.
