Timing was pretty good when Larry K. left, and Tinkle was so closely associated with the program, I am not sure how much of a "Big Test" it was. I would say 60-70% or more of D-1 schools had all of their scholarships for 2006 commited by the time Larry announced he was going to the NBA, leaving a very small pool of schools, for atheletes to possibly shop their wares if they wanted too. The big question in my mind was the 7-0 Aussie and it looks like he is still on board.

I think the real test starts today (July 5), the first day of the summer evaluation/contact period. I bet if you were to make it out to the Missoula Airport today you could wave good bye to most of the Griz basketball coaches as they get there flights to the furtile recruiting grounds across the USA. These next few weeks Wayne and his staff will be selling recruits on the new/old Grizzley program. The next few weeks are critical to the success of a program fall signing period/class.
