Way Too Early 2019 2-Deep

My thoughts:
- Sulser will for sure be a starter next year
- Glacier kid could start at RB
- Nagler and Rodriguez are both way to small to play inside like Deming. Not sure what the plan is behind him.
- we desperately need a Brent Russum or JD Quinn type to transfer here.
- Our LB’s should be very good again
- McGinnis will take Miller’s spot as the 4th safety.

Will be interesting to see what, if any, changes Hauck makes on his staff.

Not a knock on Sulser or the staff, but I'm not sure I'm as confident he will be a starter next year. The Griz are loaded at WR and I'm not sure who's starting spot he will take. But I do think he will be much more involved next year.

Well shit, if we're looking at bumping Toure to 2nd string, then we have some damn good WRs. Toure is a dude too!

I'd still like to know what happened to running back Rey Green. He was a highly regarded three star recruit. He redshirted in '16, seemed to be making waves in fall camp in '17 before getting injured. He got some action in the spring game in '18, then just disappeared. He took one snap against Drake, then nothing the rest of the season.

Did he get re-injured? Not mature enough to see the field? Just not panning out?

He'll be a Junior next year, heading into his fourth year in the program under Justin Green. Given what we have returning at RB, you think he might crack the two deep in next years roster.

I'd love to see him get some reps.

I see a lot of excitement about Turner, and I recall when we signed him many people talked about him being Bobby's type of back. I do find it odd that two true freshman got carries in the last three games (Jancaro and Graves) but not Turner. Was he injured? Something else? Anyone have any idea?

Guessing Graves suited up because he could play multiple positions.

Milton mamula #95, he hurt his good shoulder on the second or third day of fall camp which required surgery. Once he healed up he then planned to have surgery on his bad shoulder and probably wasn’t going to be available until fall camp. Had a lot of serious injuries in high school also. I hope he makes it back but who knows if he can come back from two shoulder surgeries in the same year.

Mamula has spent the entire fall in a sling. Saw him at every game, from the UNI game to yesterday. Sling was on every time. So i'm guessing he's had more than one procedure. Green wasn't hurt this year. I'll just leave it at that. Griz are one hundred percent pursuing a drop down RB.

Because we are. Hard position to recruit at this level? That’s a position where we need to upgrade. We also need an elite edge rusher. We got zero pressure on quarterbacks at times this season.

I agree for the most part, however, the line is also very young which means the players after a year in the weight room may improve a bit. They will be both bigger and stronger next season, but will that translate to better play, who knows? History with Germer over the last few seasons suggests they won’t improve. I don’t know that he’s on a hot seat but agree that of all the coaches his seat is the warmest.

Now is the time to get JC transfers. We no longer can hope the existing OL will improve. We do need 5 or 6 transfers if we can find them.

You've got kids who were in HS 8 months ago trying to play O-line...time allows them to get bigger, stronger, more mature and gel as a team/line...and I also disagree that the guys returning from injuries won't help. How can that possibly be a BAD thing? That being said, I'd take a drop down or two... :lol:
