Have watched a ton of BBall games in the last few days. Based on the commentary for those games, it's amazing how many coaches play a variety of DeCuire's approach, with a strong emphasis on the defense. Just look at the scores: Easily over half in the 60-70 points range, and many less than that. In all the games over the last two days, I see only two where a team scored over 90 points.
Here's a significant difference. The guys who do that approach successfully are able to recruit at least one "go to" shooter, and often two. Sometimes the scorers are also "bigs," who can hit treys pretty well. But they are more often shooting guards, who have a a bunch of ways to get the ball in the basket. Do the Griz have anyone like that? I don't think so.
