watch Today's WSU vs Griz game

Have watched a ton of BBall games in the last few days. Based on the commentary for those games, it's amazing how many coaches play a variety of DeCuire's approach, with a strong emphasis on the defense. Just look at the scores: Easily over half in the 60-70 points range, and many less than that. In all the games over the last two days, I see only two where a team scored over 90 points.

Here's a significant difference. The guys who do that approach successfully are able to recruit at least one "go to" shooter, and often two. Sometimes the scorers are also "bigs," who can hit treys pretty well. But they are more often shooting guards, who have a a bunch of ways to get the ball in the basket. Do the Griz have anyone like that? I don't think so.

The Griz lack more than just "that guy".

Which is weird, given that every guy they sign/recruit comes out of HS averaging 18-25 ppg, which means they CAN shoot, but somehow aren’t able to once they get to college.

I don't think it means they can shoot. Most of these guys are smaller guards that are at there best driving to the hoop. I don't think most where pure shooters.

Well I can think of a couple at least who's film showed a nice stroke, and they either lost it or have been buried on the bench for one reason or another in TD's doghouse since they got here...

Good thing the season is over soon. Never seen a a team get worse game to game like this team. And that’s a coaching issue.

I just think they have a limited roster, and definitely one that doesn't mesh with how TD wants to play.
To get the players TD needs to run his style of play, he needs to get more players like Bannon. He needs to stop recruiting the west coast and go after the mid west, corn fed, farm boys. They know how and are happy to play his style.

Not sure basing it on hand selected highlights is super conclusive.

Ok, I give. None of them can shoot and apparently TD doesn’t care.
