Watch Out for UC Davis

Have they righted their ship? Or are they merely the beneficiary of a soft spot in their schedule? First in conference games in yards per game, second in conference scoring, third in conference in points given up. They’re won their last three, scoring over 50 in the process each time. Granted it’s been against UNC, NAU and Cal Poly, but I’m betting we don’t put up anywhere near 50 on CP this weekend. They have a tough finish, with road games AT Idaho and AT Sac State, but if they finish 7-4 and WE finish 7-4, they’ll have a much better resume.

Better be rooting for either Idaho or Sac to take them out, otherwise we will be on the outside looking in unless we can somehow beat the ‘Scats on the 19th (and that’s assuming victories over CP and EWU, which certainly aren’t a given at this point).

You’ll beat them both, EWU has a shot only because their offense has big play mentality. If this was at EWU I’d tell a different tale but it’s at home and they just want to season to end. CP is getting more and more stingy. But you’ll win that too. As for UCD. You definitely need them to lose. Them, along with a 7-4 UND and or UNI team all have better resumes. Don’t forget the east coast bias, they’ll be looking for teams too. Idk if a 7-4 Gris team with no good wins gets in.

A 7-4 Griz team should be home for Thanksgiving, not deserving of a playoff spot. That said, I expect them to finish 8-3 with a win over the #3 team in their house and that becomes a different story.

There are many teams that will have a better resume than a 7-4 Griz team.

Dreams do happen. You guys won your super bowl last year. This year, it’s once again your Super Bowl. Luckily you have that going for you so the gris should be playing extra hard to get the upset!

Hopefully the Cats aren’t already looking to December.
