The UW offense scored only 1 TD against Rutgers. Key to UM victory: a miracle.

The UW defense is supposed to the better than the UW offense. The defense has a lot of speed.

I am worried about the Griz pass defense. I wouldn't play Strong or Sandry before the conference season.

I have yet to see where Strong is an asset to our defense?

Hmmm...lets see...Strong or Delaney...yeah....I'm not sure....

When given only two options, maybe there lies the problem?

No shit, Sherlock. Maybe you could go ask Manu Rasmussen or Jerrin Williams to come back?

My name really isn't Sherlock! Maybe the coaching staff might want to find someone else then? Or is it the fans job to find players?

reinell, don't be silly. I am pretty sure that Growler has sent numerous messages to coaches about all the great players he finds. Hard to believe he hasn't found any safeties yet.

I don't care how imposing the opponent, how daunting the challenge, you MUST go into every game thinking you can win. No matter many on this board are predicting a massacre, our kids cannot have that attitude--and we shouldn't either.

I have nothing but respect for underdogs who fought like crazy, played to win, never gave up, and demonstrated consummate pride, right down to the last second.

None for teams or fans that gave up before the game even started.

Good report Brint. Probably the easiest one you've done in a while lol. I'll say this, I'm expecting a massacre. This Washington team might be the best FBS team the Griz have played in 20-plus years. Hell might be? We know it is. Sorry, but this team would crush the Tennessee, Iowa and Oregon teams the Griz have played in the last decade. So, my hopes are not high, nor should they be. But, if the game plan is done right, and the Griz don't turn the ball over once, I agree with others, it could be a little more low scoring than people are anticipating.

And the only thing I'd disagree with in your report is Husky fans' enthusiasm. This is a new breed of Washington fan. They went through really rough times, worse than what the Griz have gone through. A lot of the old guard never came back. Washington fans today are younger and in great numbers, and they just went to the playoff. They'll be pumped for this game, not because it's Montana, but because they're coming home and because they are now truly back to being one of the elite teams in the country.

:agree:

I watched the UW vs an improved RUTGERS team last weekend.

And the UW defense is better than the UW offense, they are dominant. That is why I am shocked at why some Griz fans are predicting so many points to be scored by UM, it ain't happenin'...

So BW, not that your style & content isn't adequate, but I'm thinking if you want to really capture the hearts & minds...

"Tossing pebbles at a barn". "Crossing the midstripe". & when was the last time you summed up a td as an 11 yard sneaker? Just saying.

Now Amie, you need to concentrate on the FIRST time they met.

As a season ticket holder for both teams, ive been waiting for this game a long time. The worry I have for the game getting out of hand is the young secondary for UW (all 4*) were jumping everything last week. I was surprised how aggressive they were and with their d-line having a huge advantage, not giving Phillips any time, he cannot be careless with his short dump off passes.

The UW offense will still be very good this year...Rutgers had a couple great new transfer d-lineman. During Non-conference, Chris Petersen has a very vanilla game plan and they sub in a ton of players...their offense has a ton of new wrinkles when conference play starts.

UW subbed in a #2 dline at times last week and by Rutgers went no huddle hurry up to take advantage...the damage needs to be done when the #2's are in.

Guess you are equating the Rutgers offense with the Griz offense. Don't.

I agree, we are much better.
