Washington favored by 39

I wonder if the play for this one might be the over?

I was thinking that also, they might score 60 themselves if they feel froggy. But I think we will get 10 or more so...

We'll easily cover, and may outright win.
So are you considering a Win to be all your guys making it off the field under their own power? If you think the griz are going to beat UW, you should pull those markers out of your nose and get some fresh air.

But I would agree if you guys make it out with your check and no injuries, that would be a big win.

Stranger things have happened. I would've think the odds of the Griz beating Washington much better than if someone told me Donald Trump would be President in our lifetime. And look he is!

And I work in the fresh air every damn day!!!

Touche, Perhaps I pegged you wrong. You're a rock-licking geologist aren't ya!

Grizzlies win no matter what the score! You play better teams and you get better!! You play cupcakes and
you get soft...The Griz and Washington played down to their competition lat week I expect both will play better this week! This Washington team is the best Huskies team a Montana team has ever played so we need to be sharp to not get blown out! turn overs and special teams will doom us real fast and our special teams have not been good under Bob Stitt!!! I'm hoping for the best :( :(

Unless you get injured playing a team that can get a free shot on you because they dominate the guy who was supposed to protect you....and yes I think UW special teams will dominate (I predict a return for TD). Only good thing is $....but I hate being the body bag end of this (never been a fan of this concept). Let's hope they have mercy and call off the hounds in this mismatch

Loser attitude. Don't get me wrong, I totally understand where you're coming from and yes I do think you'll get destroyed but can you imagine if App State would have gone into the Big House in Michigan thinking "God I hope these big meanies don't hurt us!" Nope, they went there to win and they pulled it off. For those that don't remember, Michigan was ranked #5 in the country at that point.

App state wasn't the #27 Team in FCS coming off a collapse of a season. I know players will go in thinking they can win etc. And they should want the chance to compete.....but realistically hoping for not embarrassed and injury free is a good outcome

I would feel better with healthy safeties and our senior middle backer.

Hope we don't get bad injuries.

Don't agree that it's necessary to play a bunch of good teams to get better. There are various other factors involved in getting better. Playing too much tough competition, especially top 10 teams, can backfire and make a team worse.

Not saying the Griz will get crushed, but it they do, that won't be a step forward.

Wonder if there is a high correlation between people who use alot of football cliches and those who never played the game?

Yes, Michigan was ranked high pre-season but where did they end up? Michigan wasn't very good that year. App St was.

The players don't worry about injuries. But fans and coaches do.

I agree with this. A healthy Sandry and Strong would make me feel better about our ability to compete. Coach Pete's offense has always attacked the middle of the field, where we may be a bit vulnerable.

Saying that, I'm sure the players are excited. It will be a good opportunity for them to compete against the best and to get better. I'll consider it a victory if we can stop the big plays, limit their running the game, and limit the 3 and outs on offense.

Well quick story.....there was this legendary professor that taught Geology at Tech in my day. Petroleum Engineers hated him. They gave him the name Doc Rock, but to his face he was Dr Dresser.

2nd year of school, we are in a class where you take geology field trips each week - and we were over in the canyon near Lewis & Clark Caverns. This other student comes up, Dr Dresser, Dr Dresser, I found this rock - and I cant figure out what it is. Dresser goes, did you try tasting it? (which you may for example to see if it was a salt). So the student goes, nope, and starts licking on this big rock.

Dresser says loud enough for all of to hear, "that's not a rock - it's bat dung".

So yes technically geologists have to lick rocks.

 That's pretty good

We need to watch out for that UW tight end Dissley, the Bozeman kid. Not because he is a star. Just a Montana kid. I always root for the Montana people, including the ones that stopped briefly on the way through. I truly love Montana. I guess that just comes with being 20th or so generation. Joke, just referring to the Native American heritage.

I took his class. Sat next to an upperclassmen who was trying to pass on third attempt. Needless to say I hated his damn slide shows of rocks and his class overall. Later took a class in geology from Dr. Alt at UM (author of roadside geology of Montana)....loved his class.

Player, good for you to be proud of your heritage. I was in Crow Agency today on business. Fun people to call on and talk about great athletes........

Thx, Spanky. My son and I stopped at the Battle of the Greasy Grass, Little Bighorn, recently. He had never been there. I love all battlefields, especially civil war and indian ones. Very spiritual. Just read a bunch of summaries of Montana Indian battles in the online Missoulian tonight. Starting with Baker massacre. Baker was the soldier leader. Indians call it a different name. Near Shelby. Soldiers attacked the wrong camp of Piegan Blackfeet on Marias. Women, children and elderly. Killed about 175. Took 100 prisoner, then realized some had small pox, and let them go. With no food, clothing or shelter. In minus 30 degree weather. Think they all died.

Small box? They loved that.... unless they had small pox. But maybe they never played the game

Here's hoping that a nucleus always remembers and passes it on.

True, and nobody knows yet how good UW will be this year either.

True, but we know how not good Michigan turned out to be that year. Let's bet $100 that UW will end up higher ranked this year than Michigan did that year? I say UW higher, you get lower.

Good stuff! Lol. Geologist are odd ducks, but then again so are land surveyors. I swear though, I've never laughed so hard in my life than when I witnessed a mine geologist adamantly licking rocks in the field. I lost my shit!
