Was the targeting of Johnson intentional?

Coach Marty Daniels is my buddy.

He's the man. Plus his wife is super hot.

Had dinner last night in NYC with my friend coach Marty Daniels/Ed Marinaro. Met Ryan Fitzpatrick briefly at the hotel bar. He's the Harvard honoree at the Ivy Football Dinner. Just had Lunch with Jack Ford and others at some fancy club. Jack played d-back at Yale and is an ESPN announcer. He's co-MC-ing the event tonight with Chris Herman. They are the regular MC's for this event. Lots of fun.

That certainly answers the question of whether the Johnson targeting was intentional. Glad that is resolved.

I'm glad Fitzpatrick didn't take up EWU on their offer...he'd have been a tough opponent

I don't really believe all of the BS Hoops spins but what I don't understand is why a guy who is as successful as he claims is so insecure that he feels compelled to get on this site and randomly brag about who he supposedly had dinner with or met in a bar? Does he think it somehow legitimizes his accusations that two University of Montana grads with stellar reputations as men and coaches, Kraig Paulson and Andy Thompsom, actually directed a player to intentionally hurt a Griz player?

God I hesitate to wade into this ridiculous argument, but I don’t recall anywhere where he intimated that said player’s actions were “directed” by the coaching staff. It can be intentional without the coaches’ knowledge.

He does it because people eat it up and get pissed off.

What does the great Buddy Ryan have to do with this, good sir?

Correct. I said right away that I couldn't imagine that the SS player had intentionally tried to hurt Johnson. I also said that the act of tackling, and putting one's helmet done in the tackle, by a defensive playe, hitting a qb had thrown the ball and was being held by 2 other SS players, was an intentional act. The SS player absolutely put his head down and hit Johnson in the head. Johnson was running forward or falling down or being pushed in an odd direction, like often occurs on regular tackles ruled targets. The SS player neither put his head down accidentally nor hit Johnson accidentally. Those were intentional acts.

As further proof of everything I said, former NFL player John Spagnola was the Yale honoree at the Ivy dinner. Foye Oluokun, the former Yalie who was the leading tackler in the NFL this past 2 seasons, was also in attendance. Using oldschoolhornet's statement, that should be absolute proof.

Why is oldschool so insecure, that he can't stand that I attended the Ivy football dinner, saw a lot of friends, and met some new people? I have previously taken Bobby Hauck and Robin Pflugrad to the Ivy dinner in the past. A great event.

   Like many things in life, this reminds me of a movie scene, specifically "Joe Kidd," (1972):
Mitchell : "Well, that settles that. Anything I can do for you, Joe?"

Never ending bragging and name dropping. How was any of that information pertinent to the discussion of this thread? Just an insecure little old man working shamelessly on trying to be relevant. I'm curious, do you post your nonsense in the same fashion on the Ivy League sports sites?

Ivy football is FCS football and that’s what this egriz section is for. You are just jealous because my life is exciting and yours isn’t. You appear to be a huge loser.

Is your mind so diminished that you couldn't answer either of the questions I asked or are you just playing that deflect and defer game you use so frequently when you are getting your ass handed to you?

Just to keep the discussion relevant, tell "The Most Interesting Man in the World" to take Bobby to another event and ask him why he's recruiting dirty players that try to seriously hurt um players, per PR.

I don’t answer questions for losers.

You don’t answer questions when you can’t. I’m starting to see why others on this site feel sorry for you. All the bragging, b#ll$#it and bravado and it turns out that just an insecure little man who can’t back it up. I’m almost done with you.

Hoops doesn't respect former Griz coaches or players unless they're dealing coke or dragging their spouse down the stairs by their hair.

Keep this up and you’ll reach “PR s h i t giving” level of expert where you earn the coveted asshole title.
