Was it just me...

Or was Coach Kennedy NOT on the "Montana Tradition" poster with all of the "shadows" of former UM coaches, for the Men's team this year. I was looking at it while standing in line for the playoff tix.

Not that I'm insulted, he didn't do much with the program, just found it interesting.

Also noticed that Holst (sp?) was on there. Interesting...The UM lists a coach they fired after getting them into the NCAA tourney as part of the "Tradition".

Don't get me wrong though, I didn't think he should've been fired, I just found it suprising to see him on the poster.

New administration. I get the feeling Read wouldn't have ever dreamed of firing Holst after that season. It didn't make any sense. Kennedy will be viewed as the sketchy two year stint with the dirty mistress in the programs history that no one in the faimly ever talks about. Almost like it didn't happen. And besides, what kind of tradition is the worst two years in the history of the program. Thats what I think anyway.

If overall success had anything to do with the coaches placed on the poster, neither Kennedy or Holst would be on it. I think the theme has to do with coaches who had Montana connections. One footnote on Kennedy, his recruits on this year's team (especially Davis, Dlouhy, Martin, Farr, Strait) are doing extremely well!

Those coaches are the ones who have won championships at the university. Holst won the Big Sky Tourney the year he was fired.

He also won the 2000 regular season championship.
