There's nothing "half-ass" about the east side expansion; it was well done. Not a bad seat.

No way. There's no concessions for starters. Totally different experience up there.

I had season tickets in the east side expansion the year it opened (I'd been on the waiting list for years) and loved them. The view of the field is incredible, and I loved that you could see downtown and most of the valley. Beautiful.

My only complaint is that I'm a NEZ-style of fan, and it was a little quiet up there for the likes of me. So I moved to the NEZ, where I'm more at home. But I still miss the vantage point the expansion provides.

I bet that sunset during the App State game last year was killer up there in that upper deck!

My sister and her husband were sitting up there for that game. She would confirm that it, indeed, was a "bitch".

I'd remove all current suites/boxes on the west side and start over. Be better to wait to 10 years, get the funds in order and do it right. Rather than hurry and half-ass it like they did with the east side.

Honestly, how hard is it to walk down one level to get concessions? :?

Get 'em, I do all my serious drinking in a hoveround. walking down one level is an an issue...

Regarding the initial east side expansion - Dennison already had a clear path to adding a total of 4,000 seats, having already gotten a signoff from the students (who were assured more student seating) and a preliminary OK from the Regents, but at the last moment he asked for only 2,000. My reasonable guess is that his long feared scenario of ever falling short in filling all the projected new seats in any expansion caused him to waffle... For sure any eventual addition of 2,000 or more seats will cost a whole helluva lot more than if George had gone ahead with the original plan :!:... Machiavelli rules, even in the 21st Century

the official renovation plans are to knock out the press box and get rid of the two buildings on the westside entrance area and connect the Adam center/training room to the stadium at this point. therefore getting rid of the west entrance and it will be slightly more like app states big press box and luxury seating section. they will then build the weight room where it is but use the current locker room for the needed space. they will then connect all the weight rooms into one. then they will build out to the south (still connected to everything) a football locker room, more offices, and a hangout area for the players. think I'm making it up? you'll see..

no I don't think you are making it up :thumb:

If they tore out the old West side pressboxes..replaced them with state of the art boxes..and than maybe on the north and south side of those boxes added two large press boxes to accommodate gatherings of say 200-300 people that would be ideal. You could have certain companies and functions rent those out for games stuff like that. No seats in them, basically just large convention rooms, I think it would look good to, and make some money!

All done just in time for the 2035 season.

Haha exactly!:) hopes are that it finishes by 2017... :/

if montana has a master plan its because of the boosters, because the people leading the U of M will not help in anyway, in fact they will help delay any upgrades for WGS.

I think RE master plan for the stadium involves cementing it in, placing a library on top of it with his 1000 volume book collection of the Dummies guide on how to be the ultimate pussy!
