So, I'm upset about Pflu and O'Day being fired, and it's purely because of my need for wins to measure certain anatomical parts.....interesting. Thanks for the session doc, I should've done this alooooooooooong time ago. Here I was thinking that it was because two good men were fired for ignoring an order, making him an ego centric prick. Let's see if he really believes in his direction, or if he was after one player.

Seems to me that the ones who are ok with the way things were handled regarding Pflu and O'Day are the shallow ones. Getting a tingle in the leg because "something was done," and not really giving a rat's ass that it was the equal of putting the lid down, but not flushing the toilet. f***[*] joke how this has been handled.

Who cares about florio, boycotted the missoulian a long, long time ago.

Delaney needs to go because he's not cut out to be a head coach. And now, seems like a bad thing has happened on his watch. Seems like anybody that thought the removal of Pflu was a grand idea, should also be asking for this nice man to be gone.

I won't go that route, I don't think a head coach should be held responsible for stupid things that kids do off the field. Whomever does the crime, shall do the time. As I said, he needs to go just for the inept head coaching job.

Nice man? I'm sure, so's my grandpa, but he'd be a horrible f***[*] head coach.

1. No, Stubbs, I didn't mean to imply that because you disagree with the firings that you are one of the extreme few who are kicking and screaming because we are not dominating. You don't strike me as one of those guys/gals at all. They are the extremes. I like Jim O'Day a lot and have nothing negative to say about Pflugrad. Just don't dislike Royce and not going to jump to conclusions about his reasoning.
2. I don't care one way or another about Gwen Florio either, just not jumping to conclusions about her or her stories either.
3. As for Mick D, I think he should fulfill his 2 year contract and I think that he as not as horrible a coach as our record makes him appear. We could have/should have won a couple more if it weren't for a few circumstances that didn't go our way. This is his "learning" year and I predict a much better season next year, with Mick (not your Grandpa) at the helm.

fair enough....

fwiw, the wins and losses have nothing to do with how I feel about Delaney as a head coach. We are a handful of plays away from being 7-2,8-1 or 9-0. Lack of adjustment throughout a game, let alone the season, and stupifying calls during a few games are why I lean this way. 0-9 or 9-0, wouldn't change my mind. Also thinks it hurts recruiting...but that remains to be seen.

IF Delaney stays, and if he corrects these things, I will still be yelling for the Griz, and I will gladly let you know I was wrong....

You are showing your ignorance. Yeah a few circumstances that didn't go our way. What you are failing to point out is that those circumstances were brought on by terrible decisions in what should be basic football game management.

Mick shouldn't need a learning year. He was with the program in the past and is like 90 years old and has coached for 40 plus years as he keeps telling everyone. He doesn't have time to have a learning year. He is aloof and I have seen nothing from him that leads me to think he will not keep putting the team in situations here they can't be successful. We are a few plays away from being 8-1 or 9-0 in spite of him, not because of him.

:thumb: I will still be yelling for the Griz regardless as well...either way. And, ditto. Nobody can foresee the future but I hope for the best and because Mick is so kind (like your Grandpa and mine), I would love to see him succeed.

I don't think many Griz fans want to see him fail. I think we all want him to succeed. He just isn't doing so because frankly, he isn't very good. I agree that he is a nice guy and a good disciplinarian, but you cant convince me that we can't find someone with those qualifications who can also coach a little football now and then.

So Griz made it 8 weeks into the season without ending up in the wrong part of the Missoulian.

Mr. Poole got his hand caught in the cookie jar. Sounds like a pretty clear cut case. Easy to say now that I am 13 years past college myself but wish he wouldn't have put himself in that position. Here is an idea for what to do after the game: Eat dinner, watch a movie, study a little and get some sleep.

No blaming Gwen or Royce for this one as it was a poor decision by Poole.

If I am showing ignorance by my perspective, then you are showing arrogance by suggesting that your perspective is right and mine is wrong. In reality, there are too many variables in each play of every game to suggest that anyone knows what exactly went wrong and why. I've seen missed catches that should have been completions, turnovers that should not have happened, calls by refs that made crucial differences in some games. I am in favor of keeping the faith in Mick.

It cracks me up seeing people imply that posters here have ever blamed RE or Florio for what goes wrong with the players...

What thread and who has ever said "You know <insert name> wouldn't be in trouble if it wasn't for that damn Engstrom"

The problem people have with Engstrom is how he handled the situation with Pflu and Oday. The problem people have with Florio is the blatant biased "journalism" with obvious agendas (like putting Johnson's name in place of Donaldson's, etc).

No one that I've seen has blamed either of them for fuckups by players... so why claim that has happened?

DAMMIT Royce and Gwen I can't believe you two are low enough to plant drugs on Trevor. I just knew you two were behind this the whole entire time.

Though I feel that there are some posters on here that blame Florio, Engstrom and [insert current head coach] for things that they have no responsibility for or are beyond their control, I did not suggest that any "posters" have blamed them for the behaviors of the players. I know a couple of regular readers, though, who spout such nonsense to me all of the time.

No one has ever blamed the fearless leader or florio for anybody in the world doing anything wrong, let alone Griz football players. EVER.

Poole will probably be gone for this little adventure...NOBODY should be punished but him. SHOULD have been that way for the last 10 years.

True. I'm not fan of Gwen or Royce but to blame them is just bat shit crazy. I'm sure you noted, stubbins, that my post about them planting the drugs was in jest and making fun of the people that will try to blame them.

Poole made his choice he'll get his day in court as will JJ. Until then I'm pretty over it and just looking forward to the first two game winning steak this season for the Griz!

What stubbins is getting at is that no one here has blamed Florio or Engstrom for anything a player did, ever. At least not seriously :P

To do so would be ridiculous of course... yet for some reason people keep bringing this strawman argument up like eGrizzers are just lining up to blame Florio and Engstrom for everything that goes wrong.
