Vs. the Dirty Birds

This conference is beyond shitty. Absolutely the worst in DI.

Good win by the GRIZ. Always great to win when you don't play your best.

I hope that suu asshole gets suspended by the league (yeah, right, it's the fucking bsc) until he's 39 years old. That was one of the cheapest shots I've ever seen in a college basketball game. And while this league is at it (yeah, right...) they should suspend that officiating crew for....ever.

noco has to go to utah to play this suu team Thursday. No gimmie there. Griz could clinch Thursday.

When did this flagrant occur? I must have missed it.

Earlier, the bald ref was quickly following Falls back to the bench after calling foul on Falls. He never caught Falls and ended up talking to Decuire instead. This was before the later T on Travis. I assume Falls said something after a BS call and and the ref was having a tantrum. This guy was, indeed incredibly awful and not in control of his emotions!

As the fellow sitting down the row from me shouted at him, "Stop acting like a f-ing two-year-old who wants to be in charge."

In the last minute of play. Sayeed was face down on the floor for probably three or four minutes. I was worried that he wasn't going to get up.

With 2 seconds to play. SP boarded SUU's final miss. Everyone else was just relaxed as you would expect in that situation, and as Sayeed was coming down with the board, the suu asshole charged him from 10 feet away and gave him a knee right to the exposed rib cage. Never made any play on the ball. Just was looking to hurt SP.

I was worried too. Even after he got up. I was hoping Pridgett would have a calm mindset. I know he wanted to kick that guy's ass. Fortunately, he kept his cool at the end of game handshakes.

Wow! Not sure how I missed that! I was tucking kids in as I thought game was over. I'll have to re-watch that.

It was “North Dallas 40” level dirty....punk ass move.

I had to wait a day to post because I might say something over the top in the heat of the moment. But those f’ng refs have no business working at the f’ng college level. The game moves too fast for them and as pointed out by others, they lack the mindset to impartially officiate. Oh, and SUU is the new dirtiest team in the BSC with their Flops, leg kicks, and end of the game cheapshots. Their coach sucks shit. Watching him raise his arms in a “whaat? My guy?” posture after SP got blasted to the ground in the final seconds confirmed he needs to be booed and booed loudly if he ever shows up in Dahlberg again.

Good post, BG. Couldn't agree more.

If that bullshit were to happen to one of the marque players in any other league, the commissioner's office would put out a statement the very next day saying something along the lines of, "We're aware of the incident at the end of the Montana-suu game, and the league is investigating to see if additional action is warranted".

In the bsc when the acting commissioner is told of the incident: "There were basketball games this weekend?? Wait. Basketball? Is that the one where they try to kick that funny colored ball into that net thing in the back?"

Watched it. Holy Sh!t. What a bush-league play! I hope we get them in the tournament. I would love to see our boys go after them after that crap.

I know next to nothing reffing or the intangibles of what side of the court they stay on, but it was pretty amusing watching "the bald ref" getting his ass handed to him verbally by the courtside seats, especially Jeff Ament. That's the most vocal i've ever seen him at a game. Loved it. Anyhow, after the last time #2 jacked up a 3 ball and kicked his leg into a griz defender, he finally called the offensive foul and switched sides of the floor (to the scorers table side) for the rest of the game.

For those that know ref floor placement, do they switch sides if they're struggling? Or was it just strange timing that they switched sides? Maybe the bald ref was ready to freak out on the courtside folks and the portly ref thought he was due for a break on the other side?

I laughed at the refs apparent keen interest in Mike Larson's grandkids at the courtside seats. Spent pregame and halftime pinching kids, letting them touch game ball, etc. Seemed more important to them than trying to ref a decent game. What a joke!

The officials were so bad that DeCuire was TRYING to get a technical for three possessions, including straight up kicking the scorer's table and they wouldn't give him one. Then they gave him one for staring them down.

Completely lost control of the game. Oguine, Timmy Falls both got called for fouls where the whistle blew before the play really even happened because the refs were anticipating a reach when that in fact did not occur. They were bad all the way around, not really even bias, just poor.

I have a friend who is an administrator in the Big Sky who has a keen knowledge of officials by name. I texted him the name of the crew and his response was simply "LOLOLOLOLOL truly can't believe they sent those clowns to Missoula for senior night."

Yikes. :lame: Though maybe the reason they got "sent" was "they were all that was available." Does the BSC and PAC12 still share b-ball refs? If so, it used to be the top refs got first dibs on what games they wanted - so really the BSC just gets "left over" PAC12 refs....who, let's be honest, are pretty awful compared to the rest of the P5 conferences.

The Big Sky joined the Western Officiating Consortium before last season, meaning every ref in the western US is, in theory, available. But higher graded and more experienced officials get first dibs on games. So sometimes, you might have a straight Pac 12 crew — the crew on Monday when Montana hosted Northern Colorado did the UCLA-Oregon game two nights earlier and includes three of the 50 highest graded officials in the country — and other times, you might have the bottom of the barrel. That was the case on Saturday, I think...

Thanks for clarifying. That was what I suspected as well.
