Vs Lumberjacks

The refs. Nothing about how bad the refs were. C'mon, posters, you're letting down the eGriz brand.

See the 2 other threads.

The short soft guy made a few horrendous calls. Including whatever he called on Oguine late in game when he lost the ball on the dribble and then continued his dribble. The ref was behind Oguine and couldn’t possibly have seen the key part of the play. He is too out of shape to get up and down the court. And was limping later in game.

How did the replay look of Anderson’s put back dunk called goal tending by an out of position ref at mid court?

Good effort by the Jacks

Since Murphy has been the coach, NAU always seems to play the Griz really well. I was a bit surprised when I saw his coaching record though. How is a coach that is 68 and 128 (129 now) still around? Were the majority of these losses earlier in his tenure?

He did great his first year, advancing to the CIT Finals. Since then, this is his best year. Not sure why he is still around, TBH

NAU doesn't seem to mess with their head coaches very often despite results or the lack thereof. Now, Jerome had good seasons but never great seasons. They stuck with him for a very long time. Who knows how long they'll stick with Jack. After his first game against decuire, or whichever game it was when he got into decures face, I've left nothing more done watching decure beat him time and time again.

That was during the Big Sky Tourney in TDC's 1st(?) season - at Dahlberg. I think it was the semi-final game - Jordan Gregory drove the lane and scored a running layup with under 1 second left. One of the Griz players on the bench (in street clothes) ran out onto the court very briefly, before diving back to the bench as he though time had expired (it had not, there was like 1/2 second left and I believe NAU called a TO).

Murphy was pissed at the refs for missing the Griz player run onto the court, then dive back to the bench and during the handshake line got right in TDC's face and pointed into his face - there's a replay of it somewhere that you can kind of tell he said something along the lines of "you got lucky" - TDC got right back in his grill. A bit of a scrum followed between the 2 teams and as everyone was heading toward the locker rooms TDC took some time high fiving students in the student section.

That game was bonkers.

Yeah, the occasional playoffs seemed to keep Jerome's job intact for far too long.

Stability has it's place, but results matter as well.

Yes, kudos to NAU. They played a good, smart, tough game.

Officiating was the best in conference all year BY FAR. That, of course, is because it was officiated by 3 guys who rarely do bsc games. That said, they missed a few obvious ones. The 3 by NAU after the shot clock expired was the most egregious, because that is subject to review and most certainly should have been. The goal tend on Anderson was a blown call, but at least that's subjective. Still, it's been YEARS since a bsc game has had the flow of that game.

I was really surprised that Travis wasn't on the officials' case about that (or maybe he was and I didn't see it).

I've seen worse officiating, but these guys blew way too many calls. I've seen multiple better called games than this one. While they let the guys play most of the time, then they'd call little tacky tack things that had nothing to do with the play. The shorter soft ref is a bad ref.

One of the assistants was trying to get the refs' attention on that one.

Wins are wins.

Magic number = 1.

The Griz own the tiebreaker I take it?

Yes. With one possible caveat. Since MONTANA and noco split their head-to-heads, the next tiebreak in the bsc is to compare records against other teams, beginning from the top of the standings down. The GRIZ have swept both weebs and the kitties; noco split with each of them. So assuming either of those teams finish in 3rd, the GRIZ have the breaker.

Beyond that it gets a little confusing. Both teams split with ewoo, so they can be ignored. SUU is 3 games behind the cats with 2 to play, so they cannot finish ahead of the cats. Should PSU beat both the GRIZ and the cats this weekend, and should noco win both of their games, and should weber lose one game, Portland state could finish third. I say "could", because then psu and the cats would be tied, but I believe msu would hold that tiebreak based on their split of noco, who swept psu.

Clear as mud?

I think I have a headache now. But yes, clear as mud! Lol! Thanks Everett!

Coming off the worst cold of my life and reading this....I am going back to bed. Nice work though Everett.
