Did the locals get a head start on the voting? McCoy has a suprisingly huge lead in votes.

I think its that way mostly because of what Weber has accomplished this year, a reg season championship is motivation alot for people to vote for the guy on the winning team, its true AJ does alot, but there is alot more incentive for people to pick the winning guy. If UM were to say upset Weber in the final, and AJ did most of the work, i would say they would give it to AJ.

The term is Most Valuable Player not best player on the top seed. AJ is the most valuable to his team. Not only does he lead the BSC in scoring but he plays great defense and is the team leader right now. He is my pick for MVP.

Isnt this accomplishment expected every year by Weber fans? Sounds like it to me. Weber has a excellent team that has class/athletic players and a tremendous coach, but a BSC MVP on Weber?????..............negative. I dont think KM has carried Weber like AJ has carried UM.

Vote for AJ!!!!!!!!!

I agree, it should go to the most valuable player, and since Weber doesnt have just one guy carrying their team, its always a different player from WSU that has a good day, and leads the team. AJ is a great reason UM is doing as well as they are. He does deserve it, but unfortunately we dont get to decide.

take away AJ and Griz are bottom third of the conference. Take away dude from Weber they're still contending for 1st.

Easy Choice. Go AJ

It won't matter -- the coaches vote, and they always vote for the perceived best player on the top team. Plus, McCoy is a senior, and the coaches figure Johnson can get his next year.

Not always true. If you go over the list of past MVPs you can see that there have been a fair number of people to win it who were not seniors. Dominguez, Stuckey, Arceneaux, Lightfoot and Krystkowiak are 5 that immediately jump out at me.

I readily admit that McCoy is a fine ball player -- but he is NOWHERE NEAR as important to his team as AJ is to the Griz. It's sort of unfortunate that, as someone said earlier, the MVP vote almost always goes to the best player on the top team, not to the player who truly is the make-or-break member of his team. Anyway, AJ did get Newcomer-of-the-Year and was a unanimous selection to the all-conference team.
