Virgil Mathews = our best player

And if he did sell the popcorn, he'd be the best darned popcorn seller the Adams Center has ever seen. You can bet on it. Might even be a promotional idea for a Lady Griz game one of these days. Something to think about...

I want some popcorn!! way to go Virgil!!!!!!

Could you please edit your title to say Virgil instead of Virgin

I just got back from the game and have to go watch SportsCenter, but.Virgil Matthews is the King of the World!!!!! All of the GRIZ played great! :thumb: No SportsCenter until 11:00. :crybaby: This was really a team win. Martin was cool under pressure and shot well. Criswell was flat out tough. If he gets his hands on a ball he is going to come away with it. Hasquet killed Stanford with his 3's and Strait played extremely well inside. He also played excellent defense against Stanford's big (6'11') and predicted to be NBA bound Center. Andrew used his strength to somewhat neutralize the height difference. I also thought Mayes did a nice job coming in off of the bench in the 1st half when Chavez and Strait picked up their 2nd fouls. He had a couple of buckets, a steal and 4 rebounds.

That is some funny $hit...totally unintentional, promise!

Dhouly can still be effective at certain times, but no doubt that the Griz are better with Virgil in. He's much more solid to say the least.

Virgil,Dlouhy,Chavez,Mayes, whoever. Heck Brian Ellis, Sharp, Van Vliet and Austin didn't even play and they will all be getting some serious PT this year and in the years to come. The sounds of our recruits leads to more optimism. Krysko might be getting the Griz to where Kennedy and Snake-Oil Hogan promised us. Krysko is wise enough not to be "all talk". He is delivering. This team is loaded, and they will be loaded for years to come. They have serious potential.

I was VERY surpised not to see any Brian Ellis. Martin played all 20 minutes of the second half amazingly. Matt made a stupid Turnover in the first-half and got yanked immediately after he verbally blamed Dlouhy for the TO. Virgil and Criswell shared ball-handling duties as Krysko made Martin pay for his poor attitude and sloppy play. His benching paid-off as Matt played excellently in the second-half. He flat-out out-played Chris Hernandez, who is about 5 years older than Matt. Imagine how good Matt will be when he is 24 and losing his hair like Chrissie.

Hernandez was the biggest cry-baby I have seen in years. What a piece of work that punk is. He cried like a girl. Their coach looked clueless and Stanford's bench was the deadest I have ever seen. They didn't know what hit them.

2 outta 3 ain't bad. Hey Stanford, Can we kick your football team's ass too?

This is the deepest Griz team I've seen since forever. And a lot of great young players. Virgil had an outstanding night, but so did Jordan Hasquet, and so did several others. This could be a fun season.

I agree, GR. Even back in the glory days of the early to mid 80s I don't ever recall a team that had this depth and talent.
