Vim's Top 10 - Heading into Summer Camps
1.) Drew Almquist (Helena Capital) - WR/DB - 6'1", 180 lbs. (Griz Verbal)
2.) Steele Harris (Great Falls High) - WR/ATH - 6'3", 190 lbs. (Will be FBS)
3.) Kanon Reichmann (Three Forks) - QB/ATH - 6'4", 220 lbs.
4.) Walker Olson (Billings West) - WR/S/ATH - 6'4", 205 lbs.
5.) Cooper Pelc (Kalispell Glacier) - WR - 6'3", 185 lbs. (Griz Verbal)
6.) Quincy King (Missoula Big Sky) - DL - 6'3", 230 lbs. (Griz Verbal)

7.) Kade Leibrand (Laurel) - OL - 6'4", 240 lbs. (kittens)
8.) Lane Humphrey (Billings West) - LB - 6'2", 205 lbs.
9.) Gunnar Larsen (Billings Central) - 6'5", 200 lbs. - WR
10.) Eli Kasberg (Missoula Big Sky) - QB/LB - 6'2", 215 lbs. (Griz Verbal)

Tier 1 - "The Rare Ones"
WR- Drew Almquist 6'1" 180 (Helena Capital) Helena, MT (Griz Verbal)

WR/ATH- Steele Harris 6'3" 190 (Great Falls High) Great Falls, MT (Offers from Wisconsin, Arizona State, Utah, Iowa State, Montana State & Montana; interest from Boston College & Washington State)

Vim's Thoughts: "Drew ran a 10.9 during his sophomore track season and was first-team all-state in football. Had an unfortunate junior season due to injuries but hasn't really impacted his recruiting. He's arguably the top get in-state for 2027 along with Steele. Lightning fast, position versatile, and super competitive. His sophomore season his statement game was a 131 yard rushing performance on 6 carries and a touchdown against Billings West in the semis. Finished his sophomore campaign with 564 receiving, 363 rushing, and 13 total touchdowns while also playing full time at corner on defense for the state champion Bruins. Steele is a little bigger than Drew and his brother Reed is now with Arizona State after excelling with Boston College as a receiver for two years. Harris has also gathered more offers than Drew. On the field, he had a great junior season which included a game against Bozeman where he had 140 rushing yards, 120 receiving yards, and three total touchdowns. He also had a 7 catch, 200 yard, 3 touchdown performance against Belgrade. His sophomore season, he had 818 total yards with 6 touchdowns. I see two similar players but I give Drew the nod due to more versatility but you could also make an argument for Steele due to his size."

Tier 2 - "The Blue Chips"
WR- Cooper Pelc 6'3" 185
(Glacier HS) Kalispell, MT (Griz Verbal)
DL- Quincy King 6'3" 230 (Big Sky HS) Missoula, MT (Griz Verbal)

ATH- Kanon Reichmann
6'4" 220 (Three Forks HS) (Offer from Griz & Kittens)
WR- Walker Olson 6'4" 195 (Billings West) Billings, MT (Offer from Griz, Kittens & Utah State)

LB- Lane Humphrey 6'2" 205 (Billings West) Billings, MT (Offer from Griz, Kittens & Idaho State)

OL- Kade Leibrand 6'4" 240 (Laurel HS) Laurel, MT. (kitten Verbal)

Vim's Thoughts: "Kanon is the unicorn of this class as he stars at QB for Three Forks but he's 6'4", 220 lbs. and can do a bit of everything on either side of the ball. Cooper is super smooth at receiver but he's arguably made just as many plays at corner for the AA favorite Wolfpack. Lane is the best LB recruit in this class. Walker is raw but very talented on the outside for Billings West on both sides of the ball. Quincy is another top DL recruit, also an all-state wrestler, and has a belt in Jiu-Jitsu per his social media...not too bad of a combo to have on the interior. Kade is the top OL recruit in this class and he already displays great technique and tenacity so all you have to do is get him on your team to let him develop physically."

Tier 3 - "The Partials"
WR/LB- Sam
Sirmon 6'2" 200 (Sentinel HS) Missoula, MT (Griz Verbal)
ATH- Eli Kasberg 6'3" 210 (Big Sky HS) Missoula, MT (Griz Verbal)

OL/TE- Cade Hudyma 6'7" 255 (Glasgow HS) Glasgow, MT (Colorado State Verbal)

ATH- Hunter Daniels 6'4" 220 (Glacier HS) Kalispell, MT
QB- Banyon Johnston 6'4" 220 (Columbia Falls HS) Columbia Falls, MT

OL/DL- Hudson Casper 6'3" 245 (Flathead HS) Kalispell, MT
OL/DL- Logan Strecker 6'2" 250 (Billings Central HS) Billings, MT (Offer from Griz & kittens)
WR- Gunnar Larsen 6'5" 200 (Billings Central) Billings, MT (Offer from Griz, Kittens Cornell, Army, Air Force)
WR- Rusch Yeager 6'5" (Choteau HS) Choteau, MT (Griz Offer)
WR- Cooper Michaud 6'5" 195 (Frenchtown HS) Frenchtown, MT
WR/S- Walker Roodell 6'1" 180 (Bozeman HS) Bozeman, MT

DL- Tytan Sebestyen 6'1" 235 (East Helena HS) Helena, MT (Carroll Offer)
LB- Kane McQuiston (Big Sky HS) Missoula, MT

ATH- Laytin Erickson 6'4" 195 (Saco HS) Saco,MT (kitten verbal)
TE- Dax Yeager 6'5" 235 (Choteau HS) Choteau, MT (kitten verbal)

Thoughts: "Tytan is a top DL recruit out of East Helena and was the Class A runner-up in the HWT category in 2025 as a sophomore. Cade plays TE but he's an OT all the way. I like the way Sam runs and hits...its that simple. Eli is not a FCS QB but he's in the Levi Janacaro mold as an athlete and competitor. Hunter is another classic Glacier TE (big, athletic, and physical) and will likely stick out during summer camps in 2026. Banyon is the best thrower of the football in the 2027 crop and a great athlete. Hudson will have a legitimate chance to either develop on the OL or DL at the next level as he's the best two-way lineman prospect in this class. Walker is one of the best pure safeties in the class. Logan is a great two-way player for the Rams and you'd be getting a great high school center if you win him in recruiting. Kane is another top LB in this class and is a tackling machine."

Tier 4 - "PWOs"
LB- Jack Ryan
5'11" 175 (West HS) Billings, MT (Griz Verbal)
WR/S- Brayden Zikmund 6'1" 170 (Manhattan HS) Manhattan, MT (Griz Verbal)

QB/S- Van Shockley 6'1" 195 (Bozeman HS) Bozeman, MT (Baseball also)
RB- Tyson Scheel 6'0" 190 (Gallatin HS) Galatin, MT
RB- Kashus Ereaux 6'1" 205 (Circle HS) Circle, MT
OL- Zandon Calder 6'5" 285 (Wolf Point HS) Wolf Point, MT (Offer from Dickinson State)
WR/DB- Isaac Pringle 5'10" 190 (West HS) Billings, MT
WR- Koda Schleeman 6'0" 170 (Butte HS) Butte, MT

WR/DB- Jackson Carter 6'1" 170 (Skyview HS) Billings, MT
TE- Landon Bahmiller 6'5" 210 (CMR HS) Great Falls, MT
TE/DE- Jaiden Landrie 6'5" 210 (West HS) Billings, MT

DE/LB- Lucas Garcon 6'1" 190 (Bozeman HS) Bozeman, MT
DL- Robert Springman 6'1" 220 (Gallatin HS) Gallatin MT

S- Brody Dooley 6'1" 170 (Belgrade HS) Belgrade, MT (Offer from Missouri Baptist)

Vim's Thoughts: "Jack is an undersized LB recruit out of West but he may be one, if not the, top defensive playmakers in the state...he is everywhere. Laytin has a lot of natural athletic ability and if he keeps progressing has some Zac Crews to him. Tyson is one of the best backs in the state and runs angry. Springman's brother Tommy is already on MSU's roster. Brayden has two-way versatility but could push the top receivers in this class if he keeps developing. Zandon is a big OL project out of Class B. Brody is a top safety in AA. Van was a 1st Team AllState QB in AA last year and is a great baseball player. Dax and Rusch are two freak athletes playing ball for Choteau. Gunnar is more of a basketball player but can get it done on the football field as well. Koda is a standout for the Bulldogs at receiver and his dad Doug is the assistant head coach at Tech."

Almquist perhaps overrated by VIM. Walker Olson has Utah St offer too.
Not sure if Almquist is overrated or not but Steele Harris is on a different level than everyone else.

In my opinion, Steele Harris is the Exceptionally Rare One. Drew Almquist, Walker Olson, and Kanon Reichman are the Rare Ones. The Blue Chips are the ones listed minus Olson and Reichman and adding Dax Yeager, Rusch Yeager, and Hunter Daniels.

What does the Drew commitment mean to you posters, combined with the other in state verbals?
The Drew commitment in particular tells me BK is moving the needle. Just a month ago I was talking with his dad and it sounded fairly pro - bobcats. This commitment, along with the missoula guys vigen was going after pretty aggressively, tells me BK has flipped the script pretty quickly in terms of where these montana kids want to go. It's an important and significant step in what I hope is an extension for BK! Gotta go get it done on the field when the scoreboard is on now.

Especially given the scats are defending national champions and the way they beat us last year. They should be dominating but yet the recruiting tide has certainly shifted this year.

Its very interesting. I recall when we went to the natty in 2023 I thought we'd then dominate instate recruiting that following cycle... we really didn’t. Same thing for the cats this year. So long as the kids believe THEY can achieve it at both schools, I dont think it matters a ton! And the Cats are totally leaning into it, with the photo shoots of every kid holding the trophy.

Typically athletes tend to be more superstitious than others. I have to believe holding a trophy you didn’t earn while sitting in a letterman’s jacket you haven’t yet qualified for has to be the biggest test of superstition I’ve seen. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I think it’s more appealing to come to a place to be part of the place that turns it around and wins that ship. Not go to a place where they've already done it. Cats had this pitch from 2017 to 2021 and it worked well. I see the Griz doing the same now.

Also, there is an air of arrogance that may be off putting... makes it not about the receuit so much as makes it about last year's team.

Absolutely agree.

I agree 100%. Along with Drew, Vigen put the full court on King, Kasberg, Pelc and that whole dynamic shifted dramatically in the last 30 days in our favor. Quite surprising and encouraging.
