That's SUCKS ... one of the nasty ones. Not a lot you can do except get lots of rest and stay hydrated. Sadly, beer contra-indicated. I'm not into sweet drinks, but have found a bit of orange juice (just enough for flavor) in soda water isn't bad.

I've been sleeping in my recliner since Monday night. Absolutely can't lay flat or I'm coughing constantly. Haven't been this sick in 4 to 5 years.
