Vigen just landed in Portland… best thing for the Griz?

Vigen has good chance to turn around OSU program...the Cats were supposed to be
reloading this year now they are contending for the title...look what Mike Rogers. Eck,
Entz seem to be doing quite well...I suspect Vigen will have the same success...

Meanwhile, KSU coach Keilman (former NDSU HC) was crying at the podium Saturday...that pendulum swings both ways.

Sixx seems to be a good man and all but in my mind if he takes the OSU job he’s 3-4 years away from dismissal and humiliation. Then he’ll likely join Choate as a drifter, riding the rails out west, making stone soup with any local that can put up with their boring ass stories.
Got that right, such a dead panner post game interviews, Bobby not so good either, great coaches though.

I could really give a shit about Vigen. I do hope it throws his players for a loop. I know coaches can move on, but to interview right before the playoffs begin, is classless. For any coach. It sends a shitty message about commitment.
....that's what coaches do unfortunately ...the one coach that would have stayed was Pflugard
and we fired him...seems that's when our trouble started...pretty hard to find keeper coaches
especially if there young they will all move on...

I know, but they are the reason most of those kids are there. That's one reason I have no problem with the transfer portal.

Yea and by then he'll have made over $12 million. Meanwhile the geniuses here on egriz will be toiling in their trailers talking about how he was the sixth pick to be the head coach. You guys are hilarious.

Here's what I'm hoping.... 1) The Griz go into Bozeman in the semis and dish out some payback and beat the Cats to go to Nashville, 2) Vigen accepts the Oregon State job, and 3) Montana goes to Corvallis next fall and beats the newly-led Vigen Oregon State squad haha.

But in all seriousness, Vigen is a very good coach and for all the making fun of him that Griz fans seem to do (which I don't understand), he's done incredible work in his tenure at MSU. I kinda have enjoyed him being their head coach and it honestly gives Montana something to push itself to be better.

As much as I hate that the Cats are having the success that they are having, it has made this rivalry actually good, and it's exactly what this program needs to keep us progressing to be better than them and the Dakotas.

I made a thread about this and most thought it was not important, but Montana,MSU,and NDSU have not had a coaching change in this new NIL era. SDSU coach took about a dozen players with him. A few injuries and they almost missed the playoffs. Idaho coach took a few players others transferred to different schools and they lost their nucleus and missed playoffs. (Injuries too)
How many players would follow Vigen?
NDSU has a program that could withstand a coaching change, what about Montana and MSU?

Maybe it is a nothing burger I just think there is something different about this new era of transfers,NIL,and college football.

I think NDSU, Montana and Montana State are the only programs at this level that can withstand a coaching change as long as the new coach doesn't rock the boat and completely change the traditions and style of play.
