Viewing WIU Game Looks Pretty Grim

grim? you've got to be kidding me. with the tiniest bit of technological savvy you can see the game from pretty much anywhere around the world, for free (via the trial), using a well-established platform (espn). that is not grim.

IF your location has the bandwidth to handle live video. Not everyone does, and lot's of people are s**t out of luck. And sure, you can watch streaming on a slow hookup, but that's not much fun (to say the least). I'm working the problem of a slow link at our location, but I'm not there yet -- and I know it's gonna cost us money (but then, What's money, except to spend?)

Yea ESPN+ is a solid streaming service. If you have internet, you have the game. It’s that simple people! And you can get it free with the 7 day trial. No reasons to complain on this one

Not that simple if you are out of the country, specifically mid east, you cannot get ESPN+ Unfortunately.

I've got an wireless ISP out of Livingston (WispWest) coming today to evaluate whether they can provide sevice to me. Line of sight, but offer a fast package if they can hit me. Much better than the DSL I have.

ha, i'm pretty sure you were one who spouted some of the large the amount of shit i put up with from the peanut gallery on here a few years ago when i opined that um should join the 21st century and make sure the games were available online. oh, the toaster jokes were hilarious, as were the snide admonitions to shut up and just buy the right cable package so i could watch two games a year.

to put it another way, on espn+, with the free trial, the game is probably available to more people than ever before. you want that to be grim because you are one of a handful who decide to live where there isn't high speed cable (which obama thought you 'deserved'), go ahead and think it grim. i'll keep the "grim" definition available to things that are actually close to being grim.

I have DSL over phone via Blackfoot Communications and I am many miles from the backbone. Linked up ESPN+ on a Roku tonight and can watch a CFL game just fine. Might not have the bandwidth with heavier traffic tomorrow but fingers are crossed.

Have signed up, but my experience with streaming here is not good. CenturyLink DSL at about 6 Mbps the best I can get. A lot of buffering usually, so my expectations are not high. Will have the radio handy.

Bummer. I guess you'll just have to evaluate your commitment to supporting the team, right? There are tickets available.

Macomb? I spent a month there one night!

I actually went to the Griz' embarrassing playoff game in Macomb years ago. I'm not even gonna look it up but it was humiliating and have tried to forget it. Their "stadium" is joke. There are,literally, people who go in their back yard and set up lawn-chairs to watch the game from their small hill over-looking the "stadium", which has so few seats (and low-profile) that they can look right in. Macomb is a tiny town in the middle of nowhere. They have no fan-base, so the road intimidation factor is almost non-existent. They had a "crowd" of 2247 when they hosted #11 South Dakota State last year, and only hosted 4 of 12 games last year, so it's no surprise that this game is not on tv.

I was there also. We sucked and their stadium sucked. Can you say Dornblaser

Kem says it's all about prioritizing attending games in person. He will make the trip. No doubt.

Funeral in WY Friday afternoon for a close friend and longtime Griz fan. Priorities are where they should be. Will try the streaming and radio backup.

Will the 307 not put the game on for you? New Atlas? Or are they in the same boat?

I'll check with the 307, but Sundberg's memo was pretty clear that ESPN+ would be the exclusive coverage and I doubt they will have computer HMDI hookup.

Kicked off my free week trial of espn+ on my firestick, works Great! Linked it to my phone espn app, good to go! The NDSU and North Alabama game shows at 1:30 should be a fun watch until the GRIZ game starts.

Yup. The multicasting feature is awesome. And with a free trial. Actually well worth the $5 per month of the service. I spend more than that on one trip to Starbucks.

I'm happy the audio and the video matches unlike the GoGriz feeds. The broadcast reminds me of watching Carroll College playoff games several years ago. But the picture isn't too bad.
