McDowell, as a returning starter, decided to leave the team right after the national championship game. After tweeting something indicating he was excited to return, and after he was told there would still be a QB completion for the next season, he left the team abruptly. Kept bouncing around. Up and left Temple after a good week of spring ball. Had already been at multiple schools. Tried to come back to MT, but didn't get the approval to return. I can see why some people think he quit the team and don't like him.

Hopefully, he's in a good place and having a great season. I liked him last year too. But I'm glad he's gone and we have what we have now.

I’m SHOCKED that there was more negative reaction to the starting QB that led the team to the championship game transferring than the backup QB that got benched after some bad starts.

I’m sure it’s because of racism and not the disappointment of a starting QB who’s supposed to be a leader transferring seemingly out of nowhere.

I think for some small amount of people, this definitely is the case, but if that were true for most people, then they'd have been saying the same thing about Samori when he left, and they didn't.

I love Clif. He'll always be one of my favorite Griz QBs, but I can 100% see why the way he left left a bad taste in many people's mouths that I don't think has much to do with his skin color. I think your point about feeling betrayed nails the majority of upset Griz fans. I'm happy to see he's still healthy and playing great for McNeese, though.
Missed two games including last week because of injury.

No it's not. How is stupid? There seems to be a trend of people's reactions when a person of color vs a white person transfer. And it's an ongoing trend.
You have two young men whose season went totally different. One kid started, lost the job, and had an uncertain future. The other was the backup, became the starter, team went to the Championship, and he had a pretty solid grasp on his future. Each left, and people had different reactions, none of which would be based on race for pretty much all of them. Making it strictly a race thing is stupid.

They both decided they needed a change. It's not different. Just because you don't like it, doesn't make it different. They decided the same thing, it was in there interest to move on.

They did decide to move on, but the situations were very different. The only think I didn't like was you making things about race.
