Vernon Adams is JUST A GUY

They were talking about the lack of good O-line and WR coming our of these "High powered" Offenses on Mike and Mike today. Chris Carter (idiot) and Mike Gollic (Fat over-rated idiot) were saying that these type of offenses may be fun to watch for some, but that they lead to a lack of good players coming into the NFL.

They both also said that they would rather watch "True football" (their examples were Alabama, and Georgia) and have the score be 21-7.

Which for NFL teams is a problem...but for college programs...it is about winning games and not so much making NFL players....

Because Alabama and Georgia don't make NFL players?

Also, what do you thin Saban's first priority is....win games or produce NFL ready players?

Back to Vernon Adams. The kid is an over achiever. I would bet on him 9 out 10. I hope he gets back to full health and does great things.

Soldier, do you think that Alabama and Georgia are a typical college football program?

Typical like LSU, Notre Dame, USC, Clemson, Oklahoma, Baylor...on and on and on? Yes.

This was on NFL.com....safe to say hes not gonna be a top level draft pick like those fools at Eastern Washington were thinking. This just proves..as many have said...all that dude did was throw up jump balls to recievers that were better than anyone elses...haha

Hey neanderthal, nobody from EWU thought he would be a high NFL draft pick. He was very good at beating the crap out of the griz.

Yes. Yes he was. And everyone here knows it. That's why he still gets his own thread apparently.

But not typical for Ohio, San Jose St, Montana, Sam Houston, Harvard, and so on and so on....

Badlands...do you have a dick fetish?

Also, I never said that Saban did not have NFL ready players.

For every Alabama there is a Montana or a Miami of Ohio or a Harvard or a Florida Atlantic where getting a player ready for the NFL comes no where close to getting a kid prepared to win football games by using whatever system is necessary, whether that be a triple option or a wide open, 5 wide passing offense. Heck, Baylor doesn't even run an offense that gets players ready for the NFL.

Stay with me on this: The original post on this side-show chat referenced Alabama and Georgia. Those schools and all of those like them are very interested in producing NFL talent...recruiting multiple star HS kids in perpetuity. This enables them to win. There are many of them. Obviously, not every single college team playing football is in this category.

Now I am done. Feel free to post last and declare "victory."

Actually the topic was about how the majority of offenses in college, which are not pro-style, do not get college kids ready for the NFL. They used Alabama and Georgia as colleges that do use pro-style offenses, and in their opinion, they liked to watch those instead. They called them "True Football".

Here is the post from SACCAT:

Box wins! Box wins! Box wins!!! :P :P :P

I'm going to add to this clusterf*ck of a thread with a link to an article about how offensive linemen coming into the NFL from spread offense teams are ill-prepared...carry on!

I haven't been paying attention. Is Vernon just a guy or not?

I think so. He's a guy that's worried about playing at higher elevations. The highest elevations he has played at prior to this season were in Montana. He has a condition. You learn something new everyday....or at least I did.
