Vandals recruiting...

Moscow is a nice town, I see it similar to Missoula but much smaller.

Well yes Moscow is a nice town with a great farmers market and good restaurants. Plus it is only a 30 minute round trip to Pullman and legal weed. Missoula is a 6 hour round trip to Spokane.

If you are a Montana kid what would the appeal be of going to now play at a school at the same level (FCS), with worse facilities, and further from home compared to MSU or UofM?

If they cant offer immediate playing time I dont see many Montana kids leaving the state for Idaho.

On the flip side, I think it could open up the possibility for Montana schools to steal some high level Idaho recruits.

I did say that I could see Idaho stealing some Montana kids away from Montana schools, I don't know if you are commenting on what I said or not, if so im not saying you're wrong, I actually appriciate someone going against what I say, it creates a conversation with meaning.
What I will say to your response is Idaho does have facilities that are lesser to UofM and MSU, but they are still pretty nice. Plus they play in a dome, and that's pretty sweet no matter what. Moscow is a nice town, I see it similar to Missoula but much smaller. The biggest area I see them having is Coach Petrino, Coach Cinkovich, Coach Purcell, and Coach Daly. Those guys could sway kids to come there if they wanted. Good group of coaches.

No. Never. Not sweet. It sucks.

I went to Moscow to school. Domes suck balls. As do the Vandals. There are no redeeming qualities to Moscow. It's a small farming town in the middle of nowhere. It's best attribute is its 7 miles from Pullman. And THAT, as they say, is THAT.

The dome is cool! And the vandals just won a bowl game? How does that make them suck? Yeah they weren't very good in recent years but Petrino has them on the up and up. And if the fans were true, loyal fans to the vandal football program, similar to griz fans, the dome would be rockin.

Am I missing something? What makes everyone say the dome is so bad?

Not sure if serious....
Ha ha yes I'm serious. I get that the seats suck..the turf could probably be replaced, but that's all I can think of. They have a sweet video screen. And if they could get a loyal fan base that place would be booming.

College football should never, ever, ever, ever, EVER be played indoors. Period.

Ok..so the dome sucks because you think college football shouldn't be played indoors? I thought there was an actual reason like you didn't like the facilities or something.

ALL domes suck. The kibby dome sucks worse. But they ALL suck.

When King County blew up the King Dome in 2000, that was the end of archaic, indoor, inflexible collegiate football roof installations. Nobody wants the King Dome back. Nobody.

Alright, I can respect that. I do understand the dislike for indoor football. I think domes can be pretty cool and personally if the vandals had a fan base like the griz that place would be insane. Loud and a really cool environment. But I actually do see what you are saying.

I went there in years where the Vandals were pretty good. It NEVER ever came close to what we experience every single weekend in Wa/Griz. Not even close. And in case I haven't mentioned it....the Vandals suck. Domes suck. Fuck Moscow. We OWN the LBS. :thumb:

When Idaho beat Colorado State in 2009 in the Dome. The place was insanely loud.

Fact of the matter, UI and Moscow have no school spirit. The only games that the average Joe cared about was BJC, UNR and of course you guys. Playing in the Sun Belt or Big Sky makes no difference. No one cares.

And that's the problem. No one cares. All I was saying is if the vandal fans were as crazy and fun and loud as griz fans the dome would be a great environment.

Sadly, you can point to ONE game. And of course no one cares...it's a bunch of wheat farmers and by bunch, I mean about 10,000 TOTAL. The population of that town DOUBLES when school is in session. Where the FUCK are they gonna draw 20,000 people from?

Except EWU was D-2 at the time. Jim wasn't FCS level talent.

This implies that you think most of the 26,000 at a UM game are from Missoula.

It's a interesting time to watch this process. I'm betting there will be more like Idaho in the future.
Why, when there haven't been any in the past?
