New system, new players around him ... but VA has now passed for over 300 yards against the #5 FBS team in the country, on their home field. Yes, he had two picks, but he also had one passing and one rushing TD.

That may not be "great," but I'd say it was pretty damn good.

I ask again: What the Hell do you want? A blow-out win, with no mistakes and 100% completion rate?

Good luck trying to explain that to these rock stars. The Mich State defensive line absolutely dominated this game.

And yet Oregon only lost, on the road, by a FG. They will surely drop in the polls, but it would not surprise me is they weren't still in the top-10 (barely) when they come out next.

I'd agree with you. The 4th down spot was a joke. VA should have hit the wide open #9 for the TD. But again, he's been there a few weeks.....
 
For a guy that missed the first two weeks of fall camp, I thought VA looked pretty damn good against one of the best defenses in the country.

Good post Hav. VA is chasing a dream at a higher level of competition. He'll have his challenges but that doesn't take away anything from what he did at the FCS level.....

+1. All things considered, not at all. Could have been a bit better. But Oregon will be fine with VA as qb.

As to the overthrow, the receiver wasn't open when VA released the ball. I don't blame him for overthrowing slightly.

Hey, I wish VA all the best too....but I didn't like Oregon or VA BEFORE he switched schools...
 
He played pretty decent except about a 10 minute stretch where he couldn't get it going, he'll learn from this one because a team like Mich State really shows the difference in size and speed that he was used to in FCS, in the first half he tried to pull it down a few times and they had him within a second.

A couple more games to get used to his receivers and they should start rolling on offense, I think he'll be fine.

You are probably the first one to post drunk on the forum...

No worries. I have wondered if sometimes it is a catharsis for folks that have had a bad day and are drinking to come on the forum and talk s**t. It is a lot better than someone beating up their wife.
