UW 84, Griz 77, 1st round of NCAA tournament

Hey Pzzld,

GGG is selling those "closet cat fan" wristbands, you should pick a few up.

Come on, don't be so hard on us Cat fans. What did we do to deserve something that cold (recently, anyway)? As many of you know, this same joker spent all football season ripping on Bobcat football and deifying Griz football on bobcatnation.com. In short, he just gets off on trying to get a rise out of people -- a good sign of a lack of a real life. He went a little psycho on our site with personal threats against people, so he is no longer welcome over there. I guess he now has to get his aggression out on this site. My condolences.

On to the real subject, congrats to the Griz for making our conference look much better than any other team had managed to do all season (it was an ugly year for the BSC). The Griz will be tough next year -- K has you guys going in the right direction. I just hope our Cats can continue to improve to challenge the Griz for the title next season.

Here's to a much better conference with the Cats and Griz fighting it out next season!

Good write up. I love the game flow chart. Put mouse on chart and you can get exact score etc. for any point in the game.
It is hard to believe we were within 11 points when they shoot 55% and make 13 more free throws. We outscored them 51 to 45 second half.

The Griz did great.

Puzzled-shut up!

Yes, I actually picked UW to win, but that game was one I REALLY wanted to lose. If there was a game where a 16 could take down a 1, this was it. I didn't get to see it, but I was pulling really hard for you guys. I'm sure you'll do well next year also. Now, though, it's time to start focusing on the gridiron. (As if true Griz fans need reminding of that from a Hornet fan. :-? ) Good luck on the turf this coming season.

I thought you meant is was a bad call TrueGriz.

I think that call may have been the turning point of the game. And it was a pretty bad call. Criswell left his feet as soon as the ball went behind him and he came down on the guy. He was just trying to recover and ended on top of the guy who back cut. He even helped the UW kid back up. If they call that a hard foul like it was, the game is 53-43, Griz have the ball and continue their momentum. It took a couple minutes to recover their flow, but oustcored the Huskies by 9 points in the next couple of minutes after that. Without that intentional foul, it could have been an interesting ending.

Of course, you could say the same thing about the way we came out of the gates and that last minute before the half. Montana definitely had their chances and that's a lot better than most people gave them credit for.

Have to correct one thing. Criswell was 2-5 from three. I'll take 40% from outside any night. But I'm sure he'll hit the gym hard and try to improve that outside shot.

Puzzled...show me 1 post where you have written anything worth reading. You are an absolute joke.

Gee, I didn't realize they allowed Middle School age children on this Board.

After seeing you here for so long, all I want to say is "So long." I like long walks - why don't you take one? Now, was that worth reading, gnat?

How to make a Puzzledinmt post:

1) Refer to poster as immature.

2) Attempt to demean poster.

3) End post with slang derogatory name.

Wahla!

After Washington's discraceful loss to Louisville, Montana's loss to Washington looks even more pitiful!

Ho Hum, Basketball Teams - Next Year!

Can't wait for Football Season & Spring Practice!

:o :o If you are not familiar with puzzle go read his posts and form your own opinion before you respond and then take it to the smack board. :o :o

I know Puzzled...I bearly contain my excitement for the football opener against FORT LEWIS STATE!! You should start a countdown clock on this page so we know how many hours until game time! Should be lots of future pros playing in that game!! Man, I wonder how basketball would do against them? Don't worry though, if that game didn't get you excited enough, they follow it up with a battle against perennial national powerhouse SOUTH DAKOTA STATE in their next home game. I can't wait!!!! That sounds way more exciting than a NCAA Tournament Basketball game against #1 seed Washington don't you think??? Oh by the way, do you think that Fort Lewis State game will be televised nationally on CBS, I don't want to miss it

I'd rather watch any football game where a Montana University is expected to win or be competitive, as opposed to a Montana sure-thing loss like we get to see in the FIRST ROUND of the NCAA Basketball playoffs to a mediocre 1 seeded team. like Washington. Furthermore, what is so exciting about being out of it after the first minute of play?

First of all Puzzled, I want to congratulate you on your first reply where you actually didn't call me some sort of derogatory name, I appreciate it. However, I still think you are way off. How can you say Washington was a mediocre #1 seed? They dominated the first 2 rounds, including a very impressive performance against a very tough Pacific squad. They did lose in the Sweet 16, but to a Louisville team who is headed to the Final 4 with a legitimate chance to win the national title. Also, if you want to call call Washington mediocre, you will have to say the same to Duke, which also lost in the Sweet 16.

I believe hands down the NCAA Tournament is the best sporting event on the earth. Every single year a team pulls an amazing upset that people talk about for years and years. Do you think Bucknell and Vermont fans will soon forget what happened this year? Or Syracuse or Kansas fans for that matter? By playing the best you have a chance to pull the unthinkable, and by playing in the tournament Montana had the chance to be the team people talked about for years.

You can think what you want about the UW game, but if you throw away the first 5 minutes, the Griz are probably playing for a last shot with the opportunity to be the FIRST team ever to beat a 16 seed. I know, it didn't happen, we lost by 11, but it was a competitive game. Just having the opportunity is way more exciting than a Fort Lewis State football game or even a 1-AA Championship for that matter, cause you simply aren't competing with the best.

MinnesotaGriz, you just don't get it!

Montana is so far out of the loop playing in the NCAA Basketball tourney, it is a pitiful sight! They simply have no chance of winning with the level of talent they put on the floor. Frankly, I get no excitement out of watching a "sure-thing" defeat, whether it be basketball or football.

I think it is a shame that 1AA schools are forced to compete with 1A schools in basketball. I'd much rather see Montana competing for a National Championship in Basketball just as they do in football, where they might have a chance on winning in 1AA.

Montana could never compete on par with USC or Oklahoma in football - they'd be slaughtered - lets face reality!

I'm not sure if any (college) team could have competed with usc last year. They beat every team by comfortable margins
