With UNC's victory over the cats:

Weber: 8-1 (@UM, @MSU, NAU, UNC, ISU, @EWU, @ISU) 3 home, 4 away

UNC: 7-3 (NAU, @ISU, @Weber, EWU, PSU, @Sac) 3 home, 3 away (with a DII nonconf game remaining)

UM: 6-4 (Weber, ISU, @PSU, @EWU, Sac, MSU) 4 home, 2 away

MSU: 6-4 (ISU, Weber, @EWU, @PSU, Sac, @UM) 3 home, 3 away (with a bracket-buster game)

NAU: 5-5 (@UNC, @Weber, @ISU, PSU, EWU, @Sac) 2 home, 4 away

PSU: 4-5 (UM, MSU, @NAU, @UNC, ISU, Weber) 4 home, 2 away (with 2 nonconf games)

If Weber can gain a split on the Montana trip, they'll be in great shape. The Griz have a favorable schedule, but really need to protect the home court, especially next weekend. NAU has a brutal schedule the rest of the way. PSU, with 4 home games, has a chance to make some headway.

UNC's in 2nd place. Not bad! Half of the griz fan base probably still don't think we belong in the Big Sky, let alone D1.

That's just football. ;) ;) ;)

Football is harder to change over from a D2 roster. We're making tiny steps to improving. Tripled our win from the past few years this past season! ;)

Yeah, I don't think too many people questioned UNC's ability to be competetive in basketball fairly quickly. Much like PSU, they have a huge advantage in that they have a major city to recruit from in their back yard. To a lesser degree so does NAU, but Phoenix isn't really a hotbed of basketball.

I will say it was nice to see full houses at the UNC games this weekend. That goes a long way toward negating the "doesn't belong" statements. Unfortunately, NAU averaged about 1,000 for the two Montana schools.

I think more people feel the Griz have outgrown the BSC (in terms of facilities, attendance and football success) rather that other teams not belonging in it.

Maybe so, but you have to admit there were plenty of people who didn't like us getting into the conference. We've made strides in every sport. The community will support us it just takes wins. The basketball team has found that out this year. Football will as well in time.
