Useless Olympic Sports - What should go?

I don't like Jenny Lang Ping strictly because she seems to have singled out Jenny Joines for DNP-CDs. She's taken part in exactly TWO of the pool-play games, neither one of which was the shocking loss to Cuba. Joines would have prevented that loss. VB is not baseball, where one has to hold reserves back against extra innings; a rudimentary form of free substitution exists, so EVERYONE should play. Particularly someone as good as Jenny Joines, the second-best player who ever lived (next to the immortal Addie Hauschild).

Can't speak to any perceived relationship to Drew. I'm more familiar with the antics of eGriz HOFer Grizomatic, who used to frequent older iterations of SacBuzz.

Perhaps a solution in some of the subjective sports like diving and gymnastics would be to either add or subtract points based upon bust size. It is certainly much harder to stick a landing in the vault if one is a 38DD than if one has the frame of a 9 year old boy. That performance should be rewarded and the fans would also be rewarded. I know gymnastics would gain a permanent spot in my DVR.

The new scoring would also shift the balance of power in these events to countries that don't lie about the age of their athletes. Ratings would skyrocket and sales of posters and calendars would go through the roof.

Athletes would look forward to a lucrative career in show business or exotic dance when their sporting days are over.

It is good for the athlete, good for the Olympics, and good for the world. You are not going to invade Georgia if you're trying to get a date with their high diver.

You can call me sexist but you know I am right.

dont know if they should get rid of all the equestrian events... but they do give the medal to the wrong participant

as for events needed... dodgeball :tounge:

i actually prefer diving to swimming, but only when it involves the ladies, particularly guo jingjing. nonetheless, i'm not a big fan of 'sports' that are won or lost by subjective judging. many of those endeavors, like diving and gymnastics, obviously require incredible athleticism and training, but so does ballet. plus, they are probably more detrimental to one's long-term physical well being than even football. get rid of 'em.

I don't mind the diving - it should stay. I just don't get synchronized diving - it should go.

It figures you'd enjoy a sport overrun by those robots rather than one represented by Americans.

the "robots" you refer to are human beings who train no more than do american athletes. if you think that they are abused for the sake of "athletic glory" (and many probably are), then i would hope that you would think the same of the 13 year old american gymnast who's mommy and daddy make them go to practice every day. i would also hope that you would feel for them on a human level. however, being the racist pig that you are, you don't.

go back to canada, drew, and take your fat white ass with you. heck, i'll help you buy the extra ticket the airlines charge you because you take up two seats. too bad they don't charge on the basis of brain weight, because you'd fly for free.

:offtopic: argh!... you appear to be quite hypocritical in calling Drew out on his robot comment (which is appropriate), but you go on to make a very personal attack against him! :naughty:

i don't think that my "attack" was anything more than a justified reaction to drew's repeated racist invocations throughout the last couple of years. it is my impression that drew himself does not disagree with my assessment of his race-based commentary, which has been based on absurdities like the color of a person's skin.

if you do some searches on previous egriz posts and believe that my comments are not justified, i'd be more than willing to reconsider my position.

Word has it that Pols' elbow moves quite briskly...several times a day, while he watches a Jonas Brothers video, and no one is around!??!  :thumb:
