It was announced today that the University of South Dakota accepted an invite to the Summit League, effective the 2011-2012 season, USD's last year of transition to D1. USD will be eligible for Summit League conference championships in the 2012-2013 year.
The U of North Dakota would likely get an invite to join the Summit if it could resolve its mascot issue.
