Mike Phillips calls Williams a long standing lone representative for Montana. That's just not true. PAT SERVED Two terms after Montana lost its second Congressional seat, then he quit. His political views were too left to earn the supports of a single Montana district.

It was a very partisan split, but the arguments against Pat were mostly about what he's done lately-- muxh much more than just his NYT remarks.
The arguments for him mostly about his past. Not very compelling.
