Hauck never lost to NAU the 7 years he was here. Why should he lose, now? Some of those games were blowouts. No way is this going to be an upset.

I'm well aware of your point. Off-hand, I can't really think of a case when an FBS played at the FCS home field. (I suppose there may be a few, but they don't come right to mind.)

My point was that they were picking against the "normal" home field advantage of these teams -- not just that they were FBS. And, BTW, some hours later, those choices are still on top. :roll: :lol:

Especially when every ESPN pundit has Utah possibly pulling an upset over Southern Cal on an upcoming Thursday night in Salt Lake City. It doesn't look like a good fall in the Pac-12 for Utes.

Idaho played in WaGriz a few times after their move up until the Griz started kicking the crap out of them regularly and the WAC wouldn't allow them to come to Missoula anymore.
 
I would like for those thinking NAU will upset UNLV to say exactly why. I will say exactly why NAU will not. First, NAU faces exactly the same offense it did when Hauck was at UM. Second, NAU has exactly the same coach Hauck beat 7 consecutive years at UM. Third, NAU is consistently overrated. Fourth, QB Caleb Herring who unintentionally engineered UNLV's loss to SUU a year ago is on the bench. Fifth, UNLV lost to a Big10 team last week by only 3 points after 3 OTs. If the ball had "bounced" a bit differently, UNLV would have won. Sixth, Hauck now has a team not peppered by glamor boys who were out for themselves, rather than the team. On & on.

No, NAU will meet up with a machine, just like it did when Hauck was at Montana. End of story. Those of you who look for an upset, here, are ignorant, indeed.
 
UC Davis beat San Jose State last time they played a couple years ago, they also beat Stanford last time they played a few years ago. It could happen but San Jose is pretty good this year.

I think NAU has a chance to hang with UNLV indeed. Hauck is way over his head with the big boys in the mountain west.
 
D2, NAU Can beat UNLV because UNLV doesn't have the same winning attitude that the Griz have. So there you have it. I like Bobby. I would like him to do well there. But I agree with outlaw that he's in over his head in LV. It's a shame.

I think they have half a chance. I watched the cats play last week and their O-line is not only bad but nearly pathetic. They are not going to beat any good teams this year. I will have to say that their D is very good and will keep them in games.

One of the major differences in this team from the previous two is the marked change in attitude. All you guys are going on the past, just like the predictions. This is a far more dedicated, committed team than in the past, just like when he coached the Griz. I still call UNLV Griz South. 8-)
