Next weekend has a much more interesting set of matchups than we just had, including two games between ranked teams. But even beyond that, some other ranked teams at least have credible opponents this time out: Note that the top four “under-dogs” have good, solid winning records (3-1 or 3-0).

Even the Friday game, with Lafayette (2-2) at #16 Fordham (4-1), has a bit of intrigue, although not enough to include them in the poll. It’s not like #17 Bethune-Cookman (3-1) at home against hapless Delaware State (1-4).

Liberty, which is at home, actually has a better record than Richmond, which is ranked. After getting thumped -- not blown out, but thumped -- I suspect the Flames will be anxious to get back on the winning side this weekend.

Underdog on the left. You are allowed two upset choices.

Good work, just past noon and you're already set up for this week. Definitely more interesting games this coming weekend, but I had trouble picking two, so I relied on pure dumb luck and gut instincts and went with Villanova and Youngstown State getting upset.

I went with Misery State and Maine.

I actually think Villanova is a legit top 3 team from what I've seen of them but I think I read somewhere (maybe CS.com) that they are dealing with a lot of big injuries right now including their stud QB, Robertson.

And I haven't seen either play this year but Missouri State has a better resume than YSU on paper (beat Northwestern State, North Dakota, and Central Arkansas...only loss to Oklahoma State compared to beating Duquesne, Butler, and St. Francis-PA with only loss to Illinois).

The Indiana State-UNI game should be entertaining as well. The Sycamores looked good against Liberty and FBS Ball State (both wins) and kept the score respectable against the Hoosiers in week 1. They are better than their #25 ranking but are they good enough to knock off UNI?

ISU(Orange and Black) over EWU. Kramers fourth year and he has put together something good this year. His fourth year at EWU took the Eags to the semifinals. Got the Cats to the playoffs in his 3rd, 4th, and 6th year. You all remember the third year, right? Beat the Griz in WGS, ending "the streak." I'm thinking EWU looks past this team(20 point winner over Sac St). And, unlike the Griz, don't take their foot off the gas once in the lead.

Interesting that not many are picking an upset of Delaware at this point. Is that because Sacred Heart (3-1) is that bad, or is Delaware that good? They were blown out by an okay FBS Pittsburgh team and handled poor Delaware State fairly well ...but they only squeaked by Colgate and had to go into OT to beat JMU. I think this could be a "measuring stick" game for the Blue Hens. (To bad it doesn't seem to anywhere on TV.)

Missouri State is actually a touchdown favorite over Youngstown. So not an upset
Well, the so-called points line can change, so I always use relative TSN poll rankings to designate the "over-dog." Since Mizzo State is not ranked and YSU is, makes any easy choice. Feel free to pick a (non)upset in that game.

With four upsets among the seven choices, lots of people can say they got their picks right. Still, the top vote-getter -- a predicted upset of YSU -- didn’t happen, and only 3 people (each) picked Sacred Heart over Delaware (a close one, 10-7) or SE Missouri State over Tennessee State (another close one, 28-21).
