It isn't about MY druthers, Grizzoola. It wouldn't bother me one bit if Saturday's forecast was calling for a high of 50 degrees with sunshine and balmy chinook winds. But to stay Montana should have a domed stadium is insane. The school can't even build a modern-day adequate lockerroom and weight room for the players who bust their effing asses, give their blood sweat and tears for up to five years for this program, but it should find the money to put a friggin roof and a multi-million dollar climate control system on what is already the best FCS facility for fans in this entire country? Please tell me you're joking.
Well, that's what I suspect. No money. Like everything else in Missoula & MT. No, I'm not joking, but you've injected some reality: no money.

All I'm going to say is, while you're in the stands freezing your butts, the players & coaches will be toasty warm. If you think your support is because you share the p/c's misery, you're sadly mistaken. Ok. Go ahead turn out. I don't discourage that. But don't come on here bragging about how you're going to wear shorts, etc., to support the Griz in that kind of weather. At some point, either you, your wife, or girlfriend, will put a blanket over your legs.

Football players & coaches aren't foolish. Why should you be? I'm glad you guys are pumped. (I don't think there will be many wives/girlfriends & kids out there.) I'm just curious how many of you will be in your seats for 2d half kickoff, since you aren't in warm weather, anyway.

I don't think true football players/coaches need a lot of fans in the stands, anyway. Witness EWU. If UM can't provide a dome for WaGriz, Dec. playoff games should be scheduled for a warmer climate. Griz fans travel extremely well. How about Sam Boyd Stadium in Vegas? ;)

Dude, you're killing my buzz.

speaking of ew, it will be 10 degrees warmer over here and the eagles start at 1pm PST against sdsu.....so it should not be a big deal for their opponents.

Safe to say that no one is gonna miss Grizzoola on Saturday.
Good! it's up to everyone whether they want to attend. Wives, kids, girlfriends, whomever. I still think whoever attends in these weather conditions is unwise. (Note: I didn't say stupid.)

I do believe football in Dec. in WaGriz is a problem, due to weather. I said this several years ago, esp. when there were some who thought the NC should be in Missoula. Most eGrizzers disagree w/ my position. So be it. But, on the face of it, this is not a well-advised outdoor game, given the conditions.

Bottom line: CC players/coaches will have just as many space heaters going on their sidelines as the Griz. Do not think the Griz have any kind of advantage due to the weather, or even due to WaGriz, for that matter. The Griz better show up, early and often, if they want to feast on some chicken pot pie. GO GRIZZZ!!!

And, thanks to all you brave (not stupid) souls who show up in WaGriz. :thumb: :thumb:

I think we've faired pretty well in December homes games without a dome. Like Brint said, we dont need a sell out to have an intense crowd. NDSU can keep their dome, football is meant to be played outside.
If that's the case, why are there so many domed football stadiums, including the pros? You guys are so locked into some kind of traditional thinking that you willingly freeze your arses, just to show how "manly" you are. Don't worry. The players & coaches on both sidelines are going to keep toasty warm while you freeze in the stands. Get real.

If you seriously believe we should have a dome, why don't you go ask the Griz players what they think. Not a single one of them would say yes to a dome, cause if they wanted to play home games in the warmth, they would not have come here. Get over yourself thinking you are going to convince us domes are better. Enjoy your Saturday watching the game at home (which is your choice, won't judge), but I can guarantee you I will have more fun than you watching the game from the stands.

Get real

Guys, a piece of friendly advice.

Trying to debate, discuss, or even rationalize with David2/Grizzoola is an exercise in futility. One could say it’s like rolling a rock uphill, but that wouldn’t do it justice.

Save your breath.

Just ordered 3 together in row 2 of 130 on GrizTix. The way to do it online (calling is the best)is to select North, East, South, West and best available. I've had like 10 different tickets in my cart while choosing tickets.

I'm basically saying that because a fan chooses not to go into WaGriz under those conditions does not make him/her less of a fan, which is implied constantly on this board. I'm playing devil's advocate, here. I'm defending those of us who choose to stay home.

If you look forward to being in WaGriz Sat., fine. But don't castigate those of us who choose not to, due to using our common sense. Maybe you just like the WaGriz atmosphere, being w/ fellow fans. Maybe you believe showing up makes you a better fan than those of us who stay home.

At any rate, thank goodness for fans like you. And, maybe you can help the Griz win by noising out CC. We'll see.

I do believe the weather in the region covered by this arctic air will affect a lot of attendance at football games. But, that doesn't mean the Griz, et al., don't have dedicated fans, who choose not to be out this weather. Plus, by paying to watch Griz games on TV, we do "contribute" in some sense to the Griz.
