Unreliability of Recruiting Star System

UM probably pays no attention to stars, as I think most UM players are no higher that 2 stars, perhaps even none. So many risks & intangibles when you recruit.
 
Have you ever noticed, when a kid verbals to any school that is NOT FBS, their star rating either drops or goes away completely??

Kind of curious...anybody know the highest star player that Montana ever signed (not counting Quinn though since he transferred in)???

I wouldn't put to much credit in the star systems, at lot of the big names have not been five stars. Sure Tebow was a 5 star but take a look at all these 3 stars that made a mark in college football the last couple of years.
