Anyone know if there will be another unofficial scrimmage again this year, a la vs. Washington State the last few years?

If they told you they would have to kill you!! I have heard something may be afoot with either WSU, Idaho or Gonzaga.

Will there be updates on the scrimmage somewhere?

Only unofficially. Schools are not allowed to report any information on the scrimmage, or even keep official stats. Only school official are allowed in scrimmage and we are not suppose to know about them, but we do. last year someone gave the boards a quick report on what took place hopefully someone will do that again this year.

They are not referred to as "Secret Scrimmages" for nothing!!!

So....what's the unofficial word on the scrimmage that didn't happen?
Any reports?

Best way to get some unofficial words on the scrimmages, check the twitter pages of a player or two.

Weber is participating in a closed scrimmage with Boise State up in Idaho this year, too bad they have to be closed scrimmages.

Quick recap: Griz prob lost by 6-8 points in the 1st 40 minute scrimmage, Then won the second and 3rd scrimmages (7-10 minutes each). Very intense and physical battle. WSU probably shot about 2.5 x more free throws then the Griz did, so that was pretty much the difference. That and the Griz went about 10-12 minutes without hitting a shot in the first half... Still, they were only down 1 at half. (Keep in mind the Coug staff was keeping score)

Teams match up pretty evenly accross the board, but it seemed to me that the Griz might be a little more polished right now. Griz are equally as athletic, if not more.

Starters were Selvig, Cherry, Kareem, Ward, and Stewart. Hutch and Reader played sparingly in the 1st scrimmage, with Stockton and Henderson getting lots of minutes. Best group on the floor was Selvig, Stewart, Stockton, Cherry, and Kareem and they easily outscored the Cougs in about a 15 minute stretch in the 2nd half.

Defense looked solid. Rebounding was a little suspect with the smaller lineup, but all in all they held their own on the boards.

I will say that this is a very good basketball team. If they dont get cold in the 1st half, they win easily against a pretty good WSU team.

I wouldnt read too much into Hutch and Reader not playing a lot.. They played the majority of the 2nd two scrimmages and looked good. The coaching staff has a LOT of options to throw onto the floor depending on the opponent. Going to be a fun year.

Thanks for the Treats, Suds! Doesn't look like a lot of tricks with this team!

Damn, I'm really excited about this team. If they can avoid what seems to be their annual slow start, I think this team could put up a pretty nice record.
