Not much to talk about hoopswise during this slow offseason but you can see when the 2 UM games will be.

The UND men's basketball team will open its 2009-10 season at a three-day tournament at the University of Montana. The tournament tentatively is set to begin Nov. 13. The Sioux will play Montana, Boise State and Loyola Marymount in Missoula. It's an exempt tournament, meaning the three games count as only one on UND's schedule. Montana, which beat UND last season, finished 17-12 last season and second in the Big Sky Conference. Boise State ended 19-13 last year and lost to Stanford in the opening round of the College Basketball Invitational. Loyola Marymount ended 3-28. It's expected that Montana will play UND in Grand Forks during the 2010-11 season.

What sense does a tournament like this make? Hard to even consider it a tournament if the games do not count. Does anyone else find this to be like a joke? Seriously what does it accomplish? Could someone please clarify this? Any other fans scratching their heads on this one?
 
The games do count, but for scheduling purposes, the three games only count as one towards the total number of games a school can schedule in a season.
 
Thanks for the clarification, now I have a decision to make. Go home for that weekend or playoff weekend. I guess that depends on the outcome of the sports gambling issue in our state.

I like the schedule so far. I hope the GRIZ schedule road games at Air Force, CU, or Colorado State now. Maybe after or before University of Denver. Better yet, how about playing all the Colorado teams? :)

Tinks and O'day heard me. I was joking with them last spring to schedule all the Colorado teams for this year. Thanks guys, this is one happy GRIZ fan. Now please play better than the 2 Colorado games last year.
