This is another UNLV thread in disguise with no relevance whatsoever to Montana football.
TG shared in Griz success w/ BH and opted to go w/ him to UNLV. There's a tie, there. (pun not intended) TG suffered a bad deal, there. It was out of BH's control & I don't think there's any hard feelings between TG & BH. It's good he's back w/ the Griz, a kind of starting over. We always talk about Griz coaches moving on, etc., so I thought it was a legitimate, relevant topic for eGriz. Sorry I'm not as "inside" as many of you claim to be. You seem to know TG's mind better than I; he's not going there. Fine. Accepted.

But, I'm tired of junior-high, knee-jerk accusations that I'm bringing up BH & UNLV for that sake, only. (Titleist, you listening?) To me, it was a legitimate question, and yes, I do follow the fortunes of BH at UNLV & firmly believe that this year there will be marked improvement in that program. Few of you know the locker room attitudes BH has had to deal with over the last 2 seasons. But, I digress.

I thought it was a legitimate question. Most of you said no & let it go at that. The others, I wonder about their maturity. :geek:

Sorry to burst your bubble of hope, but UNLV has had three straight poor recruiting classes, under Hauck. His prospects for improving are slim and none. He just does not have the talent to improve.

That's not true. Hauck's recruiting classes have been considered to be fairly good. This is from the local press, UNLV mesasge board, and a LV sportsreporter friend of mine, as well as looking at the conference rankings of the classes done by services on the internet.

What joke. So, the because the UNLV message board thinks they had a good class, then we should take it to the bank?

Just for your info, I am a member of RIVALS, and they think his 2011 recruiting class ranks last in the conference. But, nice spin-job try anyway. Thanks for playin'.

d2 got what he wanted -- an injection of bh & unlv into an egriz thread.

and we got what we often laugh at!

BH = Huge Ego that underestimated the advantages U of M provided for recruiting top talent. He made a mistake and if some of you won't admit - that is a you problem! many people in life make a bad job change and this is a classic case. He will end up working under an FCS coach (not as a coordinator initially) and he will have to build his resume back up. Sucks for him, but he let his ego do the thinking. Now move on. The last time I checked our coaches initials were not BH.

What position is he going to coach if he's not a coordinator? Punters?

8. After a couple successful years at UM, Ty can do much better in FBS than this.
The most cogent reason of all.

It's a mystery to me the last time I view a cogent thought in any of your posts.

He won't be the DC or OC. Safeties, special teams, punters if his ego lets him, etc.

First, based on your track record of making up stuff and lies, I doubt that Rivals ranked the 2011 UNLV class as last in the conference. Second, Scout appears to have ranked the 2011 UNLV class as 4th in the conference.

Actually last 3 years via Rivals....

2010 - Ranked 8th (Wyoming & Air Force lower)
2011 - Ranked 6th (New Mexico, Fresno State, Air Force & Nevada are lower)
2012 - Ranked 8th (Colorado State & Fresno State are lower)

http://rivals.yahoo.com/footballrecruiting/football/recruiting/teamrank/2012/MWEST/all

And for Scout

2010 - Ranked 9th (Wyoming is lower)
2011 - Ranked 4th (TCU, Boise State & Colorado State are ahead - two are gone/leaving)
2012 - Ranked 4th (Boise State, San Diego State, and Air Force are ahead - two are leaving for Big East)

http://recruiting.scout.com/a.z?s=73&p=9&c=14&view=2&yr=2010

Of course the true irony is the two services are not even close to each other overall, which really shows what a roll of the dice it all really is.

The Rebel fan board is no different than this board: Both applaud their teams' recruits. One thing BH has been commended for is how he has more local kids on his roster than ever before. I still say local kids play beyond their talents when they represent their communities and family & friends are in the stands. You guys should know that very well. This is not to denigrate "foreign" kids, but BH knows you get local loyalty and interest when local kids are able to star. Ok, ok, "provided they win." I get that.

Too many posts here have been by guys who never liked BH from the beginning. How do any of you know "where he will end up?" How do any of you know "he made a mistake" going to UNLV?

As to bringing up BH & UNLV on this board, you all have no problem following Griz players in the NFL. Why the hell not the coaches when they move on? Too many in this thread are like a mis-programmed robot: They see "BH," "UNLV," and become Terminator. I raised a question re: TG. It got answered, but noooo, like so many threads on this board, it swerved into BH, UNLV, and me. I do appreciate those who responded respectably, and those who, even when the thread went OT, defended the Rebel recruiting class.

Grizzoola: I don't understand why some of the people that post on this board bad mouth Bobby Hauck. He did an excellent job at UM and is a good football coach/recruiter. I, for one think he will, in a few years, be a head coach in a major conference. He is that good....

An excellent point & question! :thumb:

Well, coaches don't have 4 years of eligibility like players do. Players leave because they have to, not because they think the grass is greener on the other side of the fence. Apples/oranges, blah, blah, blah. :twocents:

I have a friend that is a UNLV fan and he posts on the UNLV message board.

He says that the main problem with UNLVs athletic program is they dont have an online persona to continually make excuses for the program, the players and the administration. If they could just couple that with the outstanding recruiting classes that Big Game Bob keeps running out there, he thinks they would take off and eventually dominate the PAC-12 year in and year out.

If any of you know a jock sniffing know it all that could help UNLV out please PM me or post something on Craigslist.....the Rebel fans would really appreciate it.

Oh and all you BGB naysayers will eat some serious helpings of crow rumor is in 7-9 more seasons BGB will crank a team out that is above .500 and show everyone that just because he is 18-105 his coaching stock is skyrocketing.........this is where the jock sniffing know it all would come in REALLY handy.

Player has a friend that is a reporter down there...so there is start. You might as well join in too. And Growler doesnt live far from there so I think with you 3 you can stir up lots of stuff! 12-0 seasons with no NCs...I can see it now.
