MBBALL UNLV Game Thread

Talking with Larry this weekend, he said they didn't really value the home and away wins that year against LMU but those really helped by year's end because LMU went dancing. Drake also did and we beat them. He said no one circled those games as big but they were largely responsible for our great ranking. And ranking is everything in the tourney.
Also helped beating....Stanford(?) that year who was ranked, beat a perenially tough Colorado State team and they had a really solid showing as a.....15 seed(?) the year prior against UW.

It seems like the Griz have a more complete team this year. What i mean is, they have more players that can do multiple things. It would be nice to be bigger inside, but as these players and Travis figure out their roles and the rotation is getting worked out, this is gonna be a great team. Damn good recruiting by Travis and company. Also, great coaching last night. After losing to Stanford-which was closer than the final score-Travis somehow got the team to forget about it, and they played a great game. Will be interesting to see how good UNLV is this year, but the Thomas and Mack is no easy place to play. I watched more than twenty games down there. UNLV is a shell of themselves from the Larry Johnson, Greg Anthony, and Jerry Tarkanian days, but it's a good program. Travis showed last night this program we have in Missoula has improved leaps and bounds in his tenure, and you can tell that by who gets in here now. He gets some great players to commit here now. Go Griz!!!

What a great win and fun to watch. This is going to be a fun team, and our coaching staff needs credit. Im struck by our contributors in light in the current era of the portal. Our top contributors as follows:

-Money: 3rd year in the program
-Te'jon: 3rd year
-Tyler Thompson: traditional freshman recruit, 2nd year in program
-Aguino: traditional frosh recruit
-Chase Henderson 3rd year
-isaak : traditional juco
-connor dick: 3rd year, local product
-judkins: 2nd year

Keeping kids in the program, and developing them, and they are great young men!! Kudos to Travis, Chris, Flo and company.
