UNLV accepts bid to Heart of Dallas Bowl

I am happy for BH. I loved having him as coach. Why? His teams were tough, confident, had attitude, great special teams, hard hitting, he developed players as well as any coach, and he refused to kiss media and boosters asses. I'd take BH back here in a second.
 
When a coach, in particular, BH, is called a "dick" on this board, it's really code for: "He didn't run the offense I wanted him to." or "He didn't play my son or nephew or friend of a friends son enough" or "He didn't give an injury report at the Tuesday press conference."

I'd be willing to bet 99 percent of the people who call Bobby Hauck a "dick" have NEVER had a non-football related conversation with the man. You know, the real person. Of course, those same people will never admit that.
 
God the FBS sucks. What does "The Heart of Dallas Bowl" even mean? It just sounds stupid as hell. Maybe The Pepperoni Pizza Bowl will be on right after.

Really happy for Bobby and UNLV. Really glad UM isn't playing for the "honor" to be in a no-name bowl with a football program that costs five times more than ours does now and relies on sketchy athletes to come to our little town.

Not at all. He was a dick in terms of public relations, not personally. I met him on the charter to Portland a few years ago and he was as nice as could be. But he didn't care what the media or boosters thought of him, and sometimes he came across as a dick. But as far as coaching success? Hell, I defended him many times on this forum for that.

As someone with degrees from Both UM and UNLV I am excited by the Turnaround That is taking place. However, UNLV will lose money on this venture. Unless of course you are talking about non financial payout of being successful in a bowl game as a help in recruiting.
 
Bobby definitely was not a dick. Met him a couple of times and he was great to chat with and very personable.

They will lose near a million bucks, but the conference payout will be split among all teams in the conference. That bowl was rated dead last of the bowls to watch according to the article. Thank the lord we didn't move up.
