University of North Dakota Scouting Report

Ok, I know this has been discussed on here before, but why is UM traveling to UND for the 3rd year in a row? I realize that either 2012 or 2013 was the away end of the home and home with them, but shouldn‘t we have hosted them in a conference game at least once in the last 3 years?
Does anybody have the simple answer?

Simple answer....the big sky conference is a joke. Nobody can figure out how to pull their heads out of their asses long enough to realize that the number of teams in the conference makes for a clusterf*ck of an unbalanced schedule. Such as msu and ewu's game not being a "conference" game.

Look at NAU, they don't play either Montana teams. Montana doesn't play WSU or ISU. The list goes on and on.

Holy cow, As a UND fan coming over just out of curiousity, I had to register and say how impressed I am by this scouting report. Amazing Job!

Thanks, anything I'm missing here?
Not a lot. That's why I'm impressed.

That Stoney Brook wasn't that awful for me to watch because its the first time in years our defense looked like that. Taj Rich had 19 tackles that game. I believe we had somewhere around 17 TOFL, 4 Sacks, 2 forced fumbles, and the pick 6.

We need to clean up our return game. We've muffed some punts. With the conditions it was hard to tell if we fixed that last week (Also I had to listen on the radio as I was stuck in a grain truck).

Norberg is getting better every game. He was moved to RB due to injury. He played a ton of fullback in high school and posted some crazy numbers in one of those triple option/wing T offences, so he didn't really have to read, just all downhill. It seems like he's finding the hole better with each carry.

Bubba really has this team on a much better track to consistent success. The team seems to be starting to get the philosophy and everything. I think this will be our toughest game this year (EWU included, though I maybe in the minority). It'll be a good test to see if we keep getting better or take a step back. Hopefully in a year or two, we can continually compete with you guys for the class of the conference, instead of just hoping we get a Braden Hanson drop down FBS transfer to give us a chance.

Great post. One question: When do you sleep?

That said, I watched the Bobcat game last week, and ND looked better than anticipated. Their defense is legit and may give our running game issues if the offensive line can't build on last week. I don't see them scoring much, though. Their quarterback is not very mobile. I see our defense racking up the sacks, and hopefully some turnovers. 24-10 Griz.

Thanks for the report.

Thank you kind sir for your weekly reports. I enjoy getting a ton of info in one post, and feel as a newbie I am getting to know the team trends.

I look forward to the game Saturday as well as your next scouting report. Lets hope the bye week gives our dinged up players a chance to mend. Your other post on all the injured starters since spring practice was very informative. Shame to see young men with season or potentially life long injuries. Here's to getting them healthy and back on the field. Having seen how hard they work throughout the year it has to be beyond frustrating to be sidelined

It appears to this rookie that the O-line is improving each week. Our Freshman LT looks like he will be a tremendous asset in the coming seasons. But as I said I am no expert, just a fan.

Thanks again!

Probably pretty close. If the D gets a score, 31-10!
