Hutch 12 points 2 rebounds 1 assist 4-6 from the floor and 4-6 from the line! Playing his best heading into March is awesome. Good for Hutch and a hearty well done to Tinks for coaching him up!

+1

Some GREAT comments from Kent Haslam!

would love to know what was said? I cant listen to any of the post game show in this regional restricted land of mine.

Dammit Oz. You're going to try to make me reconcile his comments after 5 Red Hook Double Black Stouts?? Sheeeshhh... ;)

Essentially he talked about how remarkable the run has been, and that the current records have stood for 40+ years. He talked about how you could not ask for a better representative for the Griz than Wayne, and that he was extremely proud of the kids, both as players and as student athletes. His quote was something along the lines of: "Are they perfect? No. But I'd put them up against any group of 20 year olds in the country".

Man, it's great to be a GRIZ.

And he's right. Everything I hear from my kids is that these team members really are something. Everyone likes them. In turn, they are absolutely in love with their coach.

Ahh Red Hook! Im jealous. I got to tour their brewery near Seattle when I was over in yank-land, nice place and great beer :thumb:

Thanks for that, its great to see this team finally get some much deserved support. The crowd looked good on the live stream.

Also, found a great post over on UND's board (http://forum.siouxsports.com/topic/18023-und-montana/)

"I dream of this atmosphere one day happening at UND for basketball''

that made me realise how far we've come since I first watched AJ and the griz in 2010 (yeah Im a newb). The crowds then were disappointing to say the least. Now it looks like the bandwagon's wheels are starting to turn..

Agreed, 75. That's the same thing I'm hearing from everyone close to the program.

One thing I noticed when I attended the ewoo game. I sat right behind the bench, and I noticed that during timeouts, EVERY player's attention was focused on Tinks, and it never wavered. I'd glance down to the ewoo bench, and role players were looking around at the crowd, at their fingernails, whatever. It's clear this Griz team has BOUGHT IN.

Great post, Oz!

Okay, so I gotta ask: How did you become a Griz fan??

(and yes, there's a lot NOT to like about Seattle. Proximity to great beer is definitely not one of them!!) :thumb:

I spent a year at UM on exchange study from Jan 2010 to Jan 2011. I also was studying journalism and for my sports and photography classes I got hang out courtside during the game and then interview tinks and players afterwards for game reports. Even though I was just some aussie student who barely knew the sport (It took me a while to understand a few terms and stats) Tinkle and AJ always had time for an interview and explained things to me. From there I just became a fan of the team.

I also loved Seattle and Portland. Then entire Northwest is my favourite area of the states. I hope to return one day...

WOW just got home from the adams center and was that a BLAST or what! Im still jacked up! We came out ready to go, and just destroyed UND. Remember this is a team that just made a solid comeback and beat the cats on thursday on the road! They are not great, but they are a team that might bite you if you over look them or come out not focused. We were focused and came out and basically closed the game out by the 12 min mark of the first half! Hutch was great, and he looked to be very agressive tonight, looking to score and make moves in the post when he had the ball. He is starting to find his spot more and more each week and hopefully now he has figured it out! Early on he looked lost, like he had no clue where to be or what to do. I just hope its clicked! (like in hs german class i was clueless and one day it just clicked and i figured out what was going on haha) Also congrats to hutch for the Player of the Game! Should be a nice confidence boost, and the crowd was behind him for really the first time all year which i bet feels great for him!

I will stop rambling on and on, but damnit i am excited to see how we are improving each week while on a 14 game winning streak! Look out we are dangerous! Wish there was some way i could jump on I-15 for a little drive to ogden but i cant make it  I wish this would be on game plan or something, i think it deserves it..going to be awesome, hope we stick it to em!

Keep talking if you want. I love the excitement that is building around this team. I am gambling on the GRIZ making the NCAA's in SLC. I am saving time off work for it too. Might even try to make it to Missoula if the GRIZ host. :thumb:

Fun first half, sluggish 2nd half but plenty to keep UND at bay.

- Best game I've seen from Hutch ever, someone said he had a career high in points. The first five minutes he was positioned well under the basket, made some nice shots and had a few good passes. Also on defense he was physical, would force contact but not get the foul and force some errant shots. Dude got 2 standing ovations when he came out in each half.

- Good game for Will. Too many turnovers but he was shooting well. Took his foot off the gas in the 2nd half but got it back late.

- UND wasn't very impressive tonight. They didn't seem to really have a set offense it looked like street ball, give the ball carrier a screen at the top and then just... let it happen. They could jump and attack in transition well but made waaay too many errors. Can't even recall how many passes they threw away.

haha i could go on and on! Im so happy to be living here again..those 4 years in cali while in the military were brutal! sitting in the south endzone parking lot drinking a beer in the shadows of wagriz with a light snow...not a better place to live! if we host you might have to check out the tailgate haha...we were three strong toniht instead of the usual 2! we are picking up steam just like the griz! haha

The defensive intensity by the Griz in the first half was outstanding...the best of the year so far. ND had very few easy looks and were challenged on just about every shot. The D jump started the offense and the fast break. The atmosphere at Dahlberg was electric. Anyone (students, local fans, etc.) that doesn't take advantage of watching the Griz play at home is crazy!

It was great to see Hutch have a good game. His confidence has gotten a lot better over the last couple weeks. It couldn't have come at a better time. Hopefully he'll keep it up to help the Griz take care of business on these upcoming road games.

Post-game thoughts:

Hutch was...well, clutch.

Great ball movement by Montana in the first half. Wow.

Jamar is a beast when he posts up. Unstoppable. Missed a few layups, but man, what a performance.

Cherry needs to play in the NBA next season.

Huff really knows how to use the backboard. Seems to be around every loose ball, and knows how to take advantage.

Jordan Gregory does not have a low gear.

No way around it, that was just a major ass whooping your team handed us. Offensively, the Sioux looked so confussed throughout most of the game, they didn't know what to do.

Your Griz are a very impressive team, that's for sure.

It felt like we got beat by 40, not 20.

My concern, if Wayne were to go elsewhere, is that the team would try and go with him.

Thanks bin. Appreciate the nice comments. The Griz played well last night.

ND has some real talent. Webb and Huff are great players.

Just wanted to say congrats on the record Griz, your team deserves it, it is a great accomplishment, and will be very tough to beat.

Congrats again and see you on Thursday

I am sure Weber will be fired up and with the fireworks after the game in Missoula it will be interesting to see how the teams handle it!

i may be mistaken, but I think that Weber hasn't lost at home since Johnson's wild game for the Griz in the Big Sky Tournament finals...in short, winning at Weber is a tall order. I'm looking forward to Thursday night already.

Edit -- well I was wrong, WSU lost to BYU by 10 at home earlier this year. But I think it's been a long time since Weber lost a conference game at home.

Against a BSC foe no, but we did lose to BYU at home earlier this year :|
