uniforms for Cat Game??

Actually, I think 80-plus people liked them because they sold the tops and every one of them sold. And I'm sure they weren't cheap either. In fact, I've seen several people wearing them at games the last couple years.

They actually didn't sell the game worn tops. They allowed people the opportunity to buy authentic new jerseys of the same style. This time they opened up to everyone and there was a week window or so in which to order. The Black or Halloween jerseys as some refer to them as are still in possession of the Athletic Department. That being said I don't think we will see them Saturday, but that's just my gut feeling.

In 2008 they had hoped to sell the game worn throwback and there was a fiasco with the NCAA/players and their families rightfully wanting the opportunity to purchase the Jersey so they just ended up allowing the few people who got online fast enough to buy one under the original plan the opportunity to pick their size and number (other than the retired numbers). I do believe they sold the game helmets from 2008 though.

I was able to land one of the 2008 throwbacks, but actually forgot to go on in time and buy the black jersey. Still wish I would have. Oh well.

Unfortunately, I wasn't one of 'em!

I was trying to get a helmet, and got on-line three minutes...THREE F'N MINUTES after the site opened, and was greeted with a " Everything is Sold Out" message!??!

Because of the obvious demand for these, I never understood why the University didn't have more of the copper & gold jerseys/helmets made!??! WTF is up with that?

FWIW, I'm still lookin' for a copper & gold Griz helmet. Not a mini, or a replica, but an authentic, regulation sized one!

i'm also in the minority but i love it when teams bust out new uni's for big games. i didn't care for your black and orange ones but the copper ones that one year were pretty badass. i loved the cat helmets last year too...despite the outcome.

hope the teams mix it up at least a little bit on saturday.

In a Missourian or Gazette article this week, Ash said the Cats aren't doing anything fancy.

Delaney said nothing is planned, but also said he wouldn't say even if there was.

It also mentioned how much recruits love the unis, despite what some geriatrics on here think. :lol: :thumb:

If nothing else, wear the maroon tops with black pants. I don't think we've seen those yet this year, have we?

yup, junior high school uniforms - hated em...if that is what the future looks like we are in bigger trouble than I could have ever imagined....

lets just play the game and get over the fashion show!

You're mixing up the old school jerseys of 2008 which were initially auctioned off. They sold out in less than 5 minutes. Then after a big marketing snafu the jerseys were allowed to be kept by players if they purchased them. The fans were then allowed to order an old school replacement number of their choice. This purchase was supposedly limited to the original auction winners.

Don't know what happened to the original 2010 black and orange jerseys - they were not sold. Fans were allowed to buy their own numbered black and orange jersey of their choice at about $100 a pop. As many people as wanted the jersey could buy it.

no we havent, and early on last year those turned into the regular home unis.....DAMN out unis look so sick with the black pants and maroon tops.....and i have said this before....our black pants with road whites are amazing.....best road unis i have ever seen in my life...and this is comming from a guy who loves seeing teams walk into wagriz with amazing looking road unis...last year vs the cats, that was about the best i have ever seen a team look, talking about appearence...oh ya we played well too lol

You just used an entire paragraph of words that said the uniforms looked like siht. Which I agree with. Maybe if the Griz could pull their pants down to show 9/10th's of their asscracks, they'd be even "badder"... maybe they could even wear their helmets backwards too and be effin' rad, Man.

No I wasn't mixing up the 2008 and 2010 uni situations. I know all about the 2008 throwbacks and the players wanting to keep them for themselves. I'll never forget being in the press room and Bergquist saying he didn't ever want to take it off. He said he knew about the history of DD and how much wearing those colors meant to him. I was just under the impression that the 2010 black unis were sold because I've seen a few being worn at games with the players names on the backs of them. That's why I thought they were the game-worn ones.

Here's a pretty cool story about the 2008 throwbacks. The Griz did their senior day against Idaho State, a week ahead of GriZ-Cat that year, so I immediately thought something was up. I texted Marc during that Sunday night, and asked him if they were wearing throwbacks or at least some kind of alternate uni for Griz-Cat because they did senior day and wore their traditional all-maroon unis for that game. He said he didn't think so. Well, we all heard the story about how the players didn't know about the throwbacks until the morning of the game. Anyway, I'm at the tailgates morning of the game, and I get a text from Marc, it read "Sorry, we just did our equipment check and no throwbacks ):" Apparently this was just minutes after they found out about the unis and he just wanted to throw me off. Obviously, the rest is history as that tunnel run that day, when they blasted through the smoke in the old copper and white was one of the best tunnel runs in stadium history IMO. The place exploded.

That was a good day! Hopefully, whether the Griz wear new unis or just the maroon tops with black pants, Saturday will be another good day in Wash-Griz.

nope, your just a tired old bitter asshole that wouldnt know a good lookin uniform if it smacked him square in the balls....and im pretty sure i said the unis looked good, and people not likeing them was in association with the poor results
