i'm liking these uni's! listen, tinks was many many wonderful things, but a style dog he was not. we showed up looking like our unis had come straight from the clothes hamper. whereas in football it is always all about style--from how the team emerges from the tunnel, to monty's pre-game theatrics to the beaten-to-death discussions on egriz about the various iterations of our uniforms. style points count--especially when you're trying to appeal to that high school recruit. but our basketball program under tinks never got that point. you just sorta cringed when they loped onto the court in those baggy rumpled maroon uni's and five different colors of shoes.

to me, these uni's symbolize what decuire has brought to this program, cohesion. everything he has done as been solid, from picking his staff (a former pac12 head coach is now an assistant at montana) to his recruiting (which has already yieled a premier prospect) to quietly cutting andy martin (a wonderful young man but very little upside as a basketball player) to...yes...these uni's. the shoes alone send the message: we're now one cohesive unit.

by the way, in the team picture, gavin dejong looks like one tough hombre. if this kid has the hops and athletic talent he's touted to have, we may have found us a very nice player.

Agree with Citay 98 percent (except his criticism of Tinkle). Very stylish uniform cut. I suspect these are the road uniforms. It'll be interesting to see if the home uniforms are a lighter shade of "silver" or white... with maroon trim.

I was also somewhat surprised about the frontcourt size. Not only DeJong, but Boehning are solid looking big men.

But the guy that surprised me most was Brandon Gfeller. He looks to have added 10-20 lbs of muscle over the summer.

Those are looking pretty damn good to me. Before we recently got the new ones (2 years ago?) our uni's were the worst in college basketball. I LOVE the new ones we have now, and really like this addition too.

I follow lots of basketball and football recruiting guys on twitter and many have posted pictures of Travis and staff members at AAU tournaments in Vegas, Bay Area, and Los Angeles. These two writers posted the pictures because everywhere they went this summer.......so was Travis. Love what he's doing so far. Sounds like he's working his ass off.

The product on any given game day is the ticket

I am thinking that a new staff will make a difference and a nice change of pace this season

'uni watch?' - My first impression was 'University of Northern Iowa' watch, like in, watch out for them in the NCAAs, or something. You sure these uniforms are of the school colours of Uof M? They look like a dark shade of 'battleship Grey' to me.

I'm betting there's some maroon and silver on them. It's hard to tell in the photos. It could also be the dark dark grey is not actually that dark when in the lit up field house and looks more dark silver?

New uniforms or not, I can't wait for Griz BB season so we can see what the DeCuire era is going to bring :thumb:
