UND Suspends PBP Announcer...

I can't figure out what the big deal is. I did get a chuckle out of USA Today's confusion between North Dakota and NDSU though.

The NCAA and USA Today have both had that problem haha

much ado about nothing.........

truth is a scarce commodity these days, certainly do not want to hurt coaches feelings either :o

I posted on another thread that while what he said was probably not the smartest, in that it took place in the interview with the head coach immediately following a difficult loss, to suspend him is ridiculous.

My God, coaches expect players to suck it up and take criticism, yet the coach can't. Really makes me question what kind of coach he is now? Suck it up coach!!!!

Unless the guy was wearing an American Indian headdress when he said it, I just don't understand why UND officials would care. They brought a lot more attention to it by their actions than the 412 people listening to the game on the radio that night.

My feeling is that Ralston nailed it right on the head. That was a choke-job by the Sioux in that game. It was probably not the brightest thing to say to the head coach's face, but I think has been blown way out of proportion. The problem is that the radio guy is a UND employee, and is co-worker of Coach Jones'. He probably shouldn't have said it, especially on the air, but I'd say a 2 game suspension is going way overboard. At most, he probably should have been called into the AD's office along with Coach Jones and given the opportunity to apologize privately, and that should have been the end of it.

He is a University employee, so ultimately it's not a bright thing to say to the coach right after the game. But a 2 game suspension for that seems pretty silly.
