This kid played for Fargo South and was an absolute monster. Was the two time Gatorade Player of the Year for North Dakota. Went to FBS Minnesota, didn't play right away even though his spring ball was extremely impressive and now transferred into UND so he can play right away. Dealing with him and Santiago both is going to be a nightmare for teams.

Don't forget about Oliveira either, he is also a monster. Austin Gordon also had a really nice season for a guy who is buried on the depth chart.

I expect Johanneson to get a fair amount of playing time, with Santiago playing some more at WR, in addition to RB. Santiago was originally recruited as a WR so he can certainly be a dual threat kind of player.

This recruiting class has been crazy so far, especially considering where UND was just 3 years ago. Fans are definitely happy to see what Bubba has done with this program.

Calm down bud

Why not? UND has a good med school, and offers its students more than most. It isn't always about playing football. Some kids, especially in the Mid West, actually see the scholarship, or walk on, as a means to an end other than playing games.

I can think of hundreds of other places i'd rather be than Grand Forks North Dakota. I get what your saying but he'll regret it when its -20 with blowing wind and the stink from the sugar beet factories. There are plenty of med schools with football programs out there.

You do realize the kid grew up in Fargo.

I've lived in both GF and Fargo, and they both have their ups and downs. In terms of weather, yes the winter cold and wind sucks, but you do actually get used to it. I remember standing in line for hours waiting to get into a Sioux/Gopher hockey game, and we had to keep extra beer in the sleeves of our jacket so it wouldn't freeze too fast.

I don't think I would want to live in GF, though I think the city has changed quite a bit since I was in school there. Fargo has also changed and grown a lot. Definitely times I miss the slower pace of life compared to Mpls. I definitely miss not having to deal with traffic. Also, there is a lot of stuff to do in N. Minnesota, which you can take advantage of from both GF and Fargo.

I believe Johanneson was looking to go into business, and UND does have a good business school, which may have been a factor. GF is a fun little college town. I definitely enjoyed my time there, but the truth is the college experience is what you make it, regardless of what city you are in.

^Well put

In addition to Tuition, Room/Board, and books, FCOA scholarship also provide an additional $3,000 (or so)/year for living expenses.

I think UND is the only school in the Big Sky who has committed to FCOA. I imagine it would be a pretty big recruiting advantage.

FCOA varies by school based on a formula devised by the NCAA. At UND that means $3400 per scholarship. At Boise St it will be $5100 at Cincinnati it is over $6000 and Iowa St is around $2400 for a few examples.

For Alabama and Ohio State I think it's $100,000!

A friend of mine recently went to law school at UND. She likes to have a good time you could say.. But she loved GF and UND.
